Hi All,

Just to let you know. I'm going to start on the next update. This is where I will fix all the errors and then start adding more features based on what people are asking for.

This is the list at the moment:

PC Ship. The issue with Client Ships via Party Sheet not displaying correctly has been fixed
PC Ship. Warnings about 'Node Ownership' now resolved
Party Sheet. All characteristics are now available for the Characteristic/Skill Check
PSI Actions. PSI Actions cost is now reduced from the Characteristic Status PSI stat
PSI Actions. PSI Abilities now show the correct PSI DM (based on the Characteristic Status PSI stat)
PSI Actions. You are no longer able to use any PSI actions if your PSI Strength is at 0. If you have more than 0, but the COST is greater than what PSI Strength you have left, the remainder is taken as physical damage
Task Chains. You can now use a Base Skill (ie Engineer) when the required skill is a specialist skills (ie Engineer J-Drive)
Task Chains. You can now use the Unskilled Skill in place of the Required Skill. Note that Jack of all Trades will be used on this roll if it's available
NPC Attacks. The Modifier is now correctly added onto the Dice Roll
Ship Criticals. After getting clarification, a Spacecraft will now receive a Critical roll for Sustained Damage when it takes each additional 10% damage step, so a 100 Ton ship that takes 12 damage will get a Critical applied, when it takes another 8 or more, it will roll another and so on, at each 10% step (yes that means this ship taking 15 damage will roll 2 criticals)

I'll continue to add to this.

Thanks,
MBM

Anyway to get the list of errors that you are working on?

I trawl through the Bugs thread and test them. If I find them wrong, they get fixed or added to be fixed later if they're bigger things.

Evening all, as it's May Day I've sent what I've finished to SmiteWork.

I'll let you know when it's in the Test Channel.

Thanks,

I seem recall that a character sheet redesign is somewhere in the future, might I suggest taking a look at the new Fallout ruleset. One feature that he used was standard skill+stat and then an override like we have but just clicking the stat on the character sheet then skill and it overrides the default stat. It is really elegant and would reclaim some desktop space down below. Plus he puts the attributes and skills on the same page to make this possible which would also be great.

Hi Chap,

I don't own Fallout (the game isn't for me). But I'd like to see this, as you are correct, I've been umming and arring about the character sheet for sometime. I'll ask Dom to send me some pictures of it.

Cheers,
MBM

FGA did a video with SuperTeddy that shows off the character sheet.

Hopefully you/we can benefit from this new tech. :)

Well I've watched it.

I like the Characteristic Override, so what I'll do is move them off the desktop and onto the Skills page. This would allow me to limit them to what that character has.

I'll chat with Dom when he has time, and see what he thinks would fit inside Traveller. I do like the ammo countdown from the Inventory tab.

I also like the Mods button on the items, though Traveller isn't as finely structured, as I was always hoping to do something similar for power armour/weapons. But I'll have a re-think.

I am only speaking for myself, but I am happy to use what we have so you can spend the needed time to do it right, no rushing! :)

When I saw the video the first thought that went through my head was the stat/skill system would be most excellent for us and save screen space and probably handle the extra stats better so I wanted to share. The ammo and mods would be gravy!

It's fine.

So I think moving the Desktop buttons into the Skills Tab would save the issue of space on the desktop (not a huge amount) but would solve the problem of the optional characteristics.
The Ammo, to do that, would mean looking through all the weapons and working stuff out. For Fallout, 10mm is a weapon and ammo, in Traveller we have many weapons with many different ammo types, ie AP rounds. So if someone would be so kind as to list all the different 'items' we'd need for each ammo type then it's doable. I'd add a field to the Weapon where you could tell it what 'Ammo' to look for.
I do like the idea of clearing up the Inventory when you equip a weapon/armour.
I also think the Age section could be moved below the name at the top (like 5E) and then Racial Traits in the Personal Tab, and Finances in Equipment, giving the Main page more space.

Thoughts on what to do with the Character Sheet are most welcome!

MBM

any chance we can get the alteration to the ship pc records so we can add images to the notes (or other) section of the pc spacecraft?

When I work out how, then yes. Should be simple to mimic.

So leave it with me please.
