View Full Version : Looking for map assets for Tomb of Annihilation: Gears of Hate

Hoping somebody can help here - the maps that come with ToA fix the Gears of Hate in one position - hoping that somebody has a set of maps (or other assets) that can help here.

I found an older thread (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?68214-Gears-of-Hate-Tomb-of-Annihilation), but it's either not using FGU or I really don't know what I should be doing with the xml files.

Welcome to FGU.

The gears of hate has several maps. Each of the rooms has a separate map which is oriented to what it would be when turned and has its own line of sight etc. So when the PCs move the gears place them on the map for the room they are in when that happens.

Yes, but these kind of suck. Each room is on a separate map, and none are linked together or linked into the overall map for the level - I can only imagine that it makes gameplay frustrating as characters are spread across multiple maps.

I was hoping that somebody might have created a better solution, like having complete LoS versions of the entire level for each position, or something.

It might be feasible to do it in Unity using layers for each of the rooms that move and the DM could rotate each layer individually. But this module needs to work in Classic and Classic can't do stuff like that.
