View Full Version : Paizo account sync not working for Lost Omens: Character Guide

Hi, I made a purchase tonight at paizo.com to get the lost omens: character guide and all seemed good, however when I go to synchronize the paizo account on fantasygrounds.com to purchase it there it is not picking it up and applying the discount. All of my other purchases have gone smoothly in the past - could there be some sort of code mismatch for this particular item? Looking at the code at the bottom of the store page for the item it looks a lot longer than the codes for the other books I have purchased in the past.

This product appears to be set up properly. Your account sync looks like the last time it was ran for your account was on 2021-11-26 12:38:28. Can you go back to the Store Sync page and choose Retrieve Paizo.com Purchases?

Actually, in case anyone else is seeing this, I seem to have it sorted out. Recent windows updates mean that I don't seem to be able to sign in to Paizo.com using the Edge browser, but am fine with other browsers. I was trying to sync my account on Edge and it looked like it was working but may have been failing somewhere behind the scenes. When I repeated the sync today on Firefox it all went through correctly and I now see my discount. If someone else sees issues here, maybe give a browser swap out a try.

Hi timig, do you know which Edge browser you are using? There are 2 versions out there and the latest is using Chromium like Google Chrome. I would be surprised if the latest Edge has troubles where Chrome works. :)

I am using the latest (it only started occurring in the last update for me). It also threw me - why is one Chromium browser having issues where the others aren't. I am not seeing widespread reports of issues either, so it may be related to my particular machine setup. I will keep digging and see what I can find out.

OK - seemed to be a known issue at the paizo end. Clearing my cookies then signing in by trying to buy an item (not using the links on the page) seems to have me up and working again in Edge now. Very odd.

Firefox uses Quantum not Chromium.

OK - seemed to be a known issue at the paizo end. Clearing my cookies then signing in by trying to buy an item (not using the links on the page) seems to have me up and working again in Edge now. Very odd.

I ran into this recently as well with Paizo. Some browsers that had Paizo login info cached via cookies could no longer could log in. In some instances it would just repeatedly return to the Paizo sign-in screen. In another instance I saw it just silently fail without any obvious indication (similar to what you describe). I eventually found the Paizo tech support post that mentioned something happened with their server and some people would likely have to clear their browser cookies to be able to log in again. It was a very confusing situation because using a different device or browser might make it look like everything was fine, while if you had already signed in on a second device prior to the issue it might end up looking like it was a problem with the Paizo server since neither device would work.
