How do I best support having an assistant DM/GM?
How do I best run multiple groups in the same campaign world? A situation where the actions of one group can impact the state of the world seen by the other group.

Depends, I do it with extensions I wrote for my 5E games. But others may have a way to deal with it in raw FGU. For sure extensions = RISK - plus you should look for FREE ones before you ever look for paid - or even better yet - write your own if possible.

But that is for one campaign I'm talking about where I use players to help me run my NPCs and use other players to run multiple groups. You may be trying to run two campaigns where you want to "meld" them - and I don't know how you can do that other than to copy the campaign between DM/Players and not have them play at the same time. Until your ready to join them - then they run as one campaign (copy) at same time. Messy.

There are folks that run West Marches style games tat does most of that with multiple DMs. Hopefully one of those folks will see this and respond.

Assuming you mean 2 DMs during the same game session... Without extensions, Co/Assistant GMs are hard to do. You would probably want to do something like screen share the DM screen with the asst. But they won't be able to control NPCs, though they could make PCs and control those as if they were NPCs.

Multiple groups in the same campaign world. Use unique campaign for each group. Develop all your shared information in a Development campaign, export to a module, and open the module in all play campaigns. See link in my signature for info on development campaigns and module creation and other details.

Good answers to both questions, even if not what I hoped for. Will research Development Campaigns, thanks!
