View Full Version : Can't access Dhampir as a Race option in Character Wizard

I purchased Van Richten's guide and also gifted it to our DM. He created a campaign and loaded the module as well as set it as Allowed for players. I joined the campaign and also loaded the module along with all the other sources allowed to us. However, when I open the Character Wizard, Dhampir is not an option for Race. Why is that? I'm looking all over and can't find any reason why this would be happening.

I can't even do it when I start up a test campaign and try creating a character in my own campaign with the Dhampir race.

What are the steps to get this working?

Thanks,
David

EDIT: I can see the "The Undead" specialization for Warlock as well as the "Haunted One" as a background. But not Dhampir as race.

Dhampir isn’t really a race. It is missing various things like ASI which is needed to properly use it. It is more like an add on to an existing race. It doesn’t get picked up by the Character Wizard but you can use it via drag and drop.

How does one use it via Drag and Drop? I'm unsure where it can be dropped in this case, in creating a character. How do I incorporate the lineage traits to a character as I create it?

You can drag and drop the whole thing into the race section of the character sheet. Or you can drag and drop any of the traits from the links in the dhampir and drop them in the PCs abilities tab.

Appreciate the help. I did discover that after several attempts to drag and drop to different places. My character is generated with the Dhampir traits and seems to work okay. Thank you.
