In the new A5E - Level Up there is a new mechanic called "Expertise". This adds a 1d4, 1d6 or 1d8 to your check based on what you have Expertise in. Unfortunately the interface doesn't really allow for this on the character sheet. You can make a new skill for a specialty, but rolling that new skill has no way of rolling Expertise.
So below is a great work around until/unless there is something that's added to the interface later.
------------------------------------------
In the Actions tab you can create new action groups, powers, and effects. I added a group for "A5E Expertise".
Then I added 3 powers inside that: Expertise 1d4, Expertise 1d6, and Expertise 1d8.
Each of those then have an effect in them that on the next Attack, Saving Throw, or Check (skill or ability) they will add the die of that type.
Example: ATK:1d6;CHECK:1d6;SAVE:1d6
Set the effect to expire on next roll and target self.
------------------------------------------
The other way you can do it, is to have the player roll the die type ahead from their dice tray into the chat window. Then drag that result to the modifier box.
Hope this helps!
