Introducing Winnowing Pursuits, the extension to add text search and filters for your sheets!
This extension is renamed and improved from Inventory Search (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?70025-Inventory-Search), and is a drop-in replacement. Your Forge subscription should stay the same but you'll need to enable the extension for your campaign with this new name!

Winnowing Pursuits adds text-based (case-insensitive) search and filter dropdowns for character inventory and action lists. It also provides a text-based search for the party inventory, available to the GM as well as players if the campaign option is enabled. You can also turn inventory and action filters on or off in the options; if all filter options are disabled, the dropdown is hidden to free up space!

Looks to be a conflict with Damned's Trust issues and this ext. Search does not work and the filter is blank. I will be posting in that thread as well.

Unfortunately that is a closed-source extension so I can't really investigate the conflict. Hopefully damned will reach out and we can find a solution together.

Thanks for looking into this. It is strange as it affects the inventory tab but not the actions tab...

Scrolls
Currently they are both listed under Magical, but many times my players need to look just for some potion to drink or a scroll to use and Magical can get a little cluttered with other stuff.
I'm using 4e. Currently the Class is Consumable, and Subclasses are Potion and Scroll. If Subclass is not possible then having Class: Potion and Class: Scroll would work too.

Hi, I just want to clarify: this is added to the actions/powers page and would show you the "everything else" actions that are not spells? Would it include weapons?

Would it be possible to add a function to allow people to add their own search groups? For example if someone makes spells that are 'Hemomancy' (Blood Magic) they can make a group that looks for 'Hemomancy' and filters appropriately.

Certainly feasible, albeit complex to put it in the filter dropdown :) It might be more straightforward to support "power user" search by allowing search terms such as "school: hemomancy" or "duration: > 1 minute". Do you think that would fit your need?

Getting this error when adding a power to character sheet. You can test by dragging a power to the Powers tab or click on the PLUS icon at the bottom of the Powers tab and try to name the power.

Was not getting this error some builds ago.

Hey there, that's just a warning about some UI elements and is safe to ignore. It occurs because we have compatibility with another extension, Floating Tabs, and when those elements are not detected we don't have anything to merge with, and FG lets us know that there's nothing to do.

Winnowing Pursuits has been updated to v2.3.0:

Winnowing Pursuits will show results for items that are inside collapsed containers, but respect the collapsed state when the search is cleared

Hey there, these warnings are okay to ignore. They are related to the fact that we try to have compatibility with another extension that is not loaded, so its windows cannot be found. However, you shouldn't see the console pop up unless there is an actual error. Can you scroll up and down to see if you have the red [ERROR] block?

In my last game, one of my players informed me the search function in the powers tab doesn't work anymore. There is no filter either.

Well, those errors aren't for Winnowing Pursuits. That has been resolved with Mad Nomad.
Winnowing Pursuits still has an issue with the search not sticking to the bottom of the character sheet in Inventory, however. It scrolls with the inventory (see picture).

I put in a merge request for the original author to approve. I'm pretty sure I fixed everything for all the supported rulesets. Hopefully you'll see an update to this extension soon. If the author doesn't respond after a bit, I will publish it on my github.

I've taken over as maintainer of this extension. It's the same forge item so it will automatically be updated next time you update Fantasy Grounds.
Oh, and added a new feature: There are now search and filter fields for both top and bottom sections of party sheet inventory. Enjoy :-)

Good idea for when we want to find a specific NPC on a long tracker.
UI issue in Pathfinder 2e again. It's overlapping the faction icons, so groups can't be pulled out from the tracker together.

a.> You just make the CT wider for yourself.
b.> I increase the minimum width of the CT so they can't overlap.
c.> I gut the sub-section at the bottom and really move things around to make it fit on a narrow window
d.> I provide an option to disable the CT search filter

I moved it to the upper right of the CT because that's where the largest empty space was with the CT window size at it's minimum allowable size. Update Fantasy Grounds to get it.

So on LIVE, I found this strange behavior. If a power group is set to a number of uses (like 2 in this case) and 1 is already used they will automatically check the next one if you cycle the mode ( standard -> prep -> combat).

Thank you for the report, this is caused from looking for something another ext is doing but it's not finding it (capital gains). Farratto likely will fix this soon. Good report.

Heya Farrato. Just a heads up for minor issues:
In Test Channel (4.7) 5E Winnowing Pursuits has misaligned Search Bar in CT. Also, I believe in both live & test, Concentration & Non-Concentration categories doesn't show anything (spells).
I know this is not the place but if I'm not mistaken, Walk This Way is also yours. It also has misaligned Speed box in Char Sheet > Main. (A dice symbol is added to the left of it).
But in PF1, it conflicts with another mod and I can't find which one. (Also note, non/concentration is working in PF1 perfectly with only winnow enabled). I can make some tests when I have the time if you want?

EDIT 2: PF1 error is in the pic. (only winnow + walk this way enabled)

No worries, first thing after I finish some chores I'm checking it in both 5E & PF1 for extension conflicts. Free extensions only though.
Btw, these 2 extensions of yours quickly became indispensable for me.

Very helpful thank you. The unlock/lock thing is weird. Not sure what's happening there. Will have to look. The action thing is an oversight on my part. I'll get that cleaned up in the next patch

I got a fix in for the misaligned WtW Speed indicator on the charsheet. It'll be included in the next patch.

I deleted both extensions and let the updater reinstall them, still the same.

Those "WARNING" messages are all benign notifications because you don't have a particular extension loaded. But thank you for looking. I can't speak to the network error, but I can say it's not relevant to the extension.

The problem is that when these filters were written, they were looking for spells under a group heading called "Spells", but for some reason (I guess for sorting multiclassing spells, probably for people who include both pact magic and non-pact magic classes) when you make a character now instead of making a group called "Spells" it makes a group called "Spells (Wizard)" and WP was not picking that up.
I'll get that fixed in the next patch. Thanks for sticking with this one.

Each filter is different. For potions it checks type or subtype for "Potion" exactly, except for 4E ruleset where it checks class or subclass.
Valuables is a little more complex: First it checks if the item has a non-zero value under cost. If it does, it checks the type and subtype for any of the following values (not case sensitive): trade good, trade bar, gemstone, jewelry, art object, artwork.
If you find any of these filters are not working well, let me know. They are not difficult to change and I don't use them often so I'm unlikely to notice a problematic filter if no one reports it.

A module, Rise of the Runelords, lists Type "Wealth" for several items. It also lists "Commodity", "Wealth/Spell Component", "Wealth Valuable", "Gems/Jewelry"
An extension I have by MNM for Coin Manager lists Valuable Items in a summary near the coins on the Inventory Tab. It also reads the Type field if it contains the words "Valuable", and "Wealth".

Note that there might be a fix in the form of a new extension but I have no idea if that is for this errors or what SilentRuin mentioned in the 4.8 thread.
EDIT:
I've got another one. When I use the +/- buttons in "Actions" tab, it gives me a new set of errors. Changing mode to standard, prep, combat also does something that I don't understand.
Filter box in Actions is empty. But search function is working even after the erorrs.
Note that this PC is from an old campaign (4.7).

I had the errors in the attachment file in TEST channel.

Thanks for letting me know. Hopefully I can get out a fix before 4.8 goes live
