Radial Menu Question

What determines if a given level of radial menu has the 'back' option (the small circle that lets you navigate back to the parent radial menu) and in which position it appears? I don't see any examples of where it is specified, and in my experience, it shows up sometimes, but not always.

Nevermind, looks like it is actually showing up always, it's just very hard to see in some cases depending on the position. I guess the only time it wouldn't show up is if you defined menu options in all 8 positions?
