Hello all, is there a way I can mark npc tokens with status effects and conditions? I have been trying to find a direct answer but am coming up short.

If you add effects to the creatures in the combat tracker, a small icon will appear on the token on the map to indicate the effect. Known effects have different icons and you can hover over them.

More information, but not quite presented in a way to directly answer your question, https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FGCP/pages/996642031/5E+Effects+for+Advanced+Automation

If you are still confused, let us know and we can provide more detailed info.

This is great thankyou, is there a way to add a red X or skull on a npc Token to show they have been killed on the map?

Via extensions. I believe there is one on the DMsGuild. There is one on the Forge maintained by SilentRuin; https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/8/view
