Are you on a mac as well as the OP? I'm unable to reproduce either using a new campaign or the one provided by the OP. The only thing I see is that the download files are from a mac but I don't know enough about them to speculate as to whether that is the issue or not.
Also, OP, what else could be different? Are you using a theme for example - if so which one?

On PC, windows 11. Also people in the A5e Discord are reporting the same issue.
And the error is happening when you open any NPC record from any source.

Also, can confirm if I load and install the version we built with the changes by rhagelstrom that was submitted to the developer then the error does not happen.
So it is something that was changed in the last update. If you need I can send you my copy of the extension so you can compare it to what is live to see what is different. If that will help.

I'm working on a fix. I'm trying to match the extension code to the latest 5E changes as much as possible, and I needed to update the npc_main.lua script.

I disabled all themes for the fresh campaign, the only bullet selected on the startup screen is the A5E Ext.
Was working fine for me the evening of Apr 14th (PDT), not positive of a more recent date than that.
Thank you to bwatford for all the additional context!

I submitted a hotfix for this. I also updated the NPC skill functionality to match the latest 5E release.
Refer to the github (https://github.com/bwgibs/level-up-extension) repository for a copy of the latest extension code.

Thanks very much for the quick turnaround!
Doesn't look like I'm able to pull the fix down with a Check For Updates yet, so please lemme know when it's been checked in/promoted for users.

Was trying to create a new heritage, but not understanding where heritage gifts and paragon gifts are stored at or created at to be linked in the heritage. Traits are easy, the others.... ???
Any help would be appreciated.

I believe they exist within the heritage record only, similar to class features in 5E. There isn’t a campaign library (linked from the sidebar) for those, but you should be able to drag them between heritage records if you want to copy anything directly.

If the new heritage only has a few gifts then you can just copy an existing record and change it and it works fine. I was putting in the Dreamborn and it has 10 possible gifts. What I ended up doing was creating a Heritage called "Extra Traits" and putting them in there, then drag and drop to the Dreamborn Heritage where they are needed, that way they don't get added automatically but can be pulled from the race to the character sheet when selected.
Won't give a popup but it does get the job done, unless someone else has a way of doing it for Gifts, and Paragons that don't already exist.

A cascade of errors when you open a NPC sheet.

Also clicking on any ability on the action tab brings up errors as well.

Thanks for reporting. I have no specifics on what the extension changes without spending a bunch of time reading and understanding their code; so I apologize that you have to point me at the issues as you find them. I haven't heard from the DLC developers at this point. Mostly focused on the main 5E changes for D&D 2024; but I'll try to look at this tomorrow as well. Detailed steps on how to get errors helps.

Thanks for your time Moon.
For the NPC errors, they happen as soon as you open an NPC record.
On the action tab, you can click on the information link for a spell, or ability, or anything in the spell/power section and it throws the errors up immediately. Doesn't matter what you open, you get them.
It does seem that most of what I have seen are contentanchor errors.
Moon Wizard
September 18th, 2024, 08:02
It's not related to the contentanchor specifically; but the fact that the record windows had to be refactored completely to support the dual-versions required for D&D 2024.
I just pushed an update to fix all the additional errors I could find with feats, races, spells and NPCs.
Let me know if you find anything else; and I'll see when I have time to help.

I've noticed two bugs related to this extension.
1. You can no longer drag cultures onto a character sheet, nor can you add the specific abilities from a culture to a character sheet. This doesn't work with or without the extension loaded.
2. The RELIABLE effects don't work. This works without the extension loaded, but doesn't work with it loaded.
Tested with no other extensions loaded.

In the latest update, i am getting an error.
63552
Steps to reproduce:
open a new campaign with no other extensions loaded.
open a character, or create a new one
go to actions tab
unlock the character sheet.
this impacts the way pact magic is configured in A5E. Im not familiar with how 2024 might have changed pact magic or if this has any impact on the error in question.

Thanks for the report, jonesdaadi. I will take a look at it. The character sheet uses a lock button at the top instead of the edit button in the lower right, so I think it's just a matter of adjusting the update function for that.

When the sheet is locked, for me the slots are not visible. The words Pact Magic are there but no slots.

Bug Report - Level Up A5e - Cannot add Cultures Traits to Character Abilities tab
Fantasy Grounds Version:
v4.6.6 ULTIMATE (2025-02-20)
Ruleset for Loaded Campaign:
Dungeons and Dragons (5e)
Failure occurs when either "Legacy" or "2024" is selected as the 'Game: Rules Version' in the Options settings.
Extensions selected:
"Feature: Level Up Advanced 5th Edition"
This is the versioning information for the extension that is displayed in the Chat window after Fantasy Grounds loads the campaign:
"Level Up: Advanced 5th Edition extension
(2024-04-27) for Fantasy Grounds
Copyright 2022 Smiteworks USA, LLC"
Books/Modules Activated:
Level Up Advanced 5e Adventurer's Guide
Level Up Advanced 5e Trials and Treasures
Level Up Advanced 5e Monstrous Menagerie
The modules above are the only ones that should be activated in order to reproduce the bug/failure described here. If any WotC Legacy or 2024 Core Player's Rules D&D modules are loaded and activated, the D&D 2024 or D&D Legacy character building "Ancestries" subrace selection process will be triggered if attempting to create a character with any Level Up A5e Heritage other than Orcs or Planetouched.
Steps to reproduce:
Under the PLAYER section of right side menu choices, Click the 'CHARACTERS' button to open the CHARACTERS window, and click the '+' (Add Item) button to create and display a new character sheet.
On the Main tab of the Character sheet window, click the '+' (Add Item) button located to the right of the HERITAGE field. Alternatively, under the CHARACTER section of right side menu choices, Click the 'HERITAGES' button to open the HERITAGES window.
On the HERITAGES window, click and drag one of Heritage items listed onto the HERITAGE field of the character sheet Main tab. This should trigger a 'SELECT GIFT' pop-up window.
Select and confirm one of the Heritage gifts in the 'SELECT GIFT' window. This should populate the HERITAGE field of the character sheet with the Heritage name and also populate all of the associated Heritage and Heritage Gift Features and Traits on character sheet Abilities tab. Also observe that text will appear in the Chat window detailing what has been added to the character sheet.
A tangential bug to note in the text displayed in the Chat is that the Heritage added uses the word "Species" instead of the word "Heritage". This is incorrect. "Species" is what WotC 2024 D&D uses in place of origin biological racial/lineage/ancestry/heritage characteristics. Level Up Advanced 5e refers to this as "Heritage".
Under the CHARACTER section of right side menu choices, Click the 'CULTURES' button to open the CULTURES window.
On the CULTURES window, click and drag one of the listed Culture items onto the HERITAGE field of the character sheet Main tab. This should populate the HERITAGE field of the character sheet with the Culture name in parenthesis after the Heritage name.
This should also populate the character sheet in many places with any associated Culture Features, Traits, Ability score adjustments, Proficiencies, etc., but observe that it fails to do this automatically as expected.
On the CULTURES window, select and open the window with the details for the Culture you attempted to add in the previous step.
Open the Abilities tab view on the character sheet.
Click and drag one of the Traits listed in the Culture details window from step 7 onto the TRAITS section of the character sheet Abilities tab.
Observe the failure behavior that nothing happens. The expected behavior is that any Features, Traits, Ability score adjustments, Proficiencies, etc., that are associated with the Culture added to the character would be populated on the character sheet in the appropriate places.

Bug Report - Level Up A5e - Adding Backgrounds to Main tab of Character sheet throws error in Console
Fantasy Grounds Version:
v4.6.6 ULTIMATE (2025-02-20)
Ruleset for Loaded Campaign:
Dungeons and Dragons (5e)
Failure occurs when either "Legacy" or "2024" is selected as the 'Game: Rules Version' in the Options settings.
Extensions selected:
"Feature: Level Up Advanced 5th Edition"
This is the versioning information for the extension that is displayed in the Chat window after Fantasy Grounds loads the campaign:

Books/Modules Activated:
Level Up Advanced 5e Adventurer's Guide
Level Up Advanced 5e Trials and Treasures
Level Up Advanced 5e Monstrous Menagerie
Steps to reproduce:
Under the PLAYER section of right side menu choices, Click the 'CHARACTERS' button to open the CHARACTERS window, and click the '+' (Add Item) button to create and display a new character sheet.
Under the Character section of right side menu choices, Click the 'BACKGROUNDS' button to open the Backgrounds window.
From the BACKGROUNDS window click and drag one of the listed backgrounds onto the BACKGROUND field of the Main tab of the new character sheet.
Observe that the Console window opens with an error message that reads,
"[ERROR] Script execution error: [string "Level_Up:scripts/manager_char_A5E.lua"]:398: attempt to call field 'onAbilitySelectDialog' (a nil value)".
Also observe that a 'SELECT PROFICIENCIES' window pops up with an appropriate list of proficiencies to select from which will add the Skill proficiency on the Skills tab of the character sheet, and that many of the Features and Proficiencies or Abilities attributes adjustments associated with the particular background selected do get populated on the Character sheet as expected.

I'm noticing some ERROR and WARNING messages being thrown in the client connected console upon loading the Level Up A5E extension in a client connection.
Looks like they're associated with the A5E specific encumbrance and "Supply" fields on the character sheets.
Happens with both a direct LAN localhost connection and when connected through a cloud session.
Don't see them when it's loading up in the host.
Latest 4.7.1 Ultimate version with "Feature: Level Up Advanced 5th Edition" as the only extension selected.
Doesn't seem to have any negative effect while playing though I haven't done any extensive testing or tracking of the issue.
Console logs are attached and here is a sample of what appears in the console.log file:

The character wizard button was removed because it doesn't work for A5e characters. It is still possible to use legacy or 2024 characters in an a5e campaign so I'm not sure why the subclass and ancestry buttons should also go away.

New update seems to have broken something in the extension when rolling saving throws. Other rolls appear to be fine.
The issue seems to be that it calls the ActionCheckA5E version of the named function instead of the ActionSaveA5e version. Correcting this locally fixed it for me.
65168
Edit: Correction, it was a conflict. I'd changed the name of the file in my extension to avoid conflict, but apparently it didn't work until I completely reloaded fantasy grounds (not just /reload). False alarm! Even so, the ActionSaveA5E DOES still use the Check version of the named function instead of its own, which likely needs correcting.

Hello,
Loving this game/extension. Two things I've found. Power Caster Feat seems to be missing from FGU version of the Adventurer's Guide. Has this been removed? My PDF copy and Physical copy of the game seem to have it. Secondly, I can not drag and drop any destiny features onto the character sheet at all.
