Hi,
I wonder why there are no blood markers/splats for dead NPCs in D&D 5e, whereas they have been included in other rulesets (for example, in SWADE: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?64027-Unity-Blood-splats-are-not)

Rulesets vary by author - unfortunately radically so. While CoreRPG is supposed to be the gold standard between them - it is not. But extensions can cover what some rulesets lack - you just write your own to do what you want or find one that meets your needs, preferable a free one. Such as Death Indicator for 5e which will do blood splats among other things. Of course, EXTENSIONS = RISK, and if your not willing to incur that RISK I'd stay away from them in general.

The blood splats being in SWADE (and I believe one or two other rulesets out of the 20+ official rulesets) is because the developer decided to spend time on that ascetic. The coding for each ruleset can be different - different ways of calculating wounded/defeated/killed statuses and where that data is stored; it's not a case of being able to simply fit generic code into all rulesets.

As SilentRuin points out, there are some community extensions for certain rulesets that carry out similar functionality - if you want to take the route of running additional extensions.

"Ascetic"?
Anyway, what a pity D&D 5ed developers did not include blood splats: they are a great help to visualize how many guys are dead in the map, where did they die etc..

Poor spelling (I blame it on auto correct) - I meant aesthetic.

It's all a matter of priority and what some people love, see as a great help and see it as adding to their game, others don't. Based off the fact that there's no entry for it on the feature request wishlist seems to suggest it's not up there in people's requirements.

I recommend you add an entry to the FG feature request wishlist - letting the devs know that this is a requested feature, and others can vote on it too. Wishlist here: https://fgapp.idea.informer.com/

When you've added your request, post a link to it in this thread so others can vote if this is something they want to see.

Silent Ruin's Death Indicator extension works well. I've been using it on and off for years. https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/8/view

There is (or was) a death token extension which put blood splatters on the map. However the problem was that it added tokens which then caused issues with token staking.

There's also blood splatter images in one (or more) of the art packs. You could use those to manually add a splatter to the map where an NPC dies. This would have the benefit of not causing token stacking issues since they are images rather than tokens.

Just FYI - I just maintain it for my own desired functionality in FGU - it was originally Celestians and some other guy as listed in page one of its forum thread that I got permission to use and maintain. So it's not "mine" I'm only its custodian with a few things I added in that I wanted and to make it compatible with FGU.

I use https://www.dmsguild.com/product/353690/Fantasy-Grounds-5E-Indicators It has different options for tokens before and after death.
