Darkness 'lights' should function as lights and burst and rather than spread.
FGU handles the two things differently.

Unfortunately, the whole concept of lights in FGU is based on the LoS model; so it is non-trivial to support "spread" (around corners) vs. burst (blocked by corners).

You can add to the wish list in my signature, if this is something you would like to see.

I guess the point I was making is just that darkness lights dont work like light lights.

I guess what you're saying is the aren't really anti lights in the code.

I disagree, Darkness SHOULD spread rather than be burst.


Magical darkness spreads from a point you choose within range to fill a 15-foot-radius sphere for the duration. The darkness spreads around corners.

A creature with darkvision can't see through this darkness, and nonmagical light can't illuminate it.

If the point you choose is on an object you are holding or one that isn't being worn or carried, the darkness emanates from the object and moves with it. Completely covering the source of the darkness with an opaque object, such as a bowl or a helm, blocks the darkness.

If any of this spell's area overlaps with an area of light created by a spell of 2nd level or lower, the spell that created the light is dispelled.

You are quoting a section of rules from a specific game, while this thread is talking about how FGU handles darkness 'lights' irrespective of the game being played. Note that this thread is in the FGU healing section of the forums, not any specific game. Different games might handle darkness differently, in which case FGU should eventually have support for all the different ways that darkness might be implemented in different games.

So at the very least it should for sure spread and according to you MIGHT need to burst.

I'm disagreeing with the OP who is saying it should burst and NOT spread.

I understand this is in House of Healing - Unity. I also understand there are different games systems for FGU. What you failed to understand is what I already stated.

If the OP has a system on FGU that uses burst for darkness then would suggest stating that. Also you can look in my signature for a wish list of items if you want something added to the system.
