It has been about 2 months since we have played our campaign on FGU. We have all updated to the latest version. When my players log on, none of them can see any characters in the character selection and therefore cannot select a character. As the GM, I can see all the characters and none of them have ownership. They are level 4 characters.

Probably the simplest way to fix this would be to clear the owner of the characters.
Right-click on the character and select clear owner.
From there, your players should be able to select their character again.
Of that does not work, I am not sure what would be the next step, probably you'd need to provide your campaign to see what's going on.

Characters are each owned by the FG user name of the player. If you recently migrated from FGC to FGU, this is a difference between the 2 clients.
Either way, you can right click on each character in the Character Selection window on the GM client, and select the Clear Owner option to reset ownership.

Note that after Clearing Ownership, the players will need to re-open te Character Selection window.

The players owned the characters originally. When it was pulled up last time, there were no owners. I took ownership of them, then released ownership to see if that would work. Alas, it did not.

Are you using any extensions? Can you test without any extensions.

It looks ok in your screen shots, I am guessing something deeper is going on.
You can zip your campaign and post it (or a link to it) (https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FGCP/pages/1725825027/How+to+ZIP+Your+Campaign+for+Support+Developers), so it can be looked at.

Here it is. I hope we can figure out what's going on.

I'm not sure what's going on for you, it's working for me.
I can see the characters just fine in a player instance (start a second instance and JOIN the first), the player instance does not see the GM owned character as expected.

Do you see messages in the chat when the players are joining your campaign?
Can you send and receive chat messages from them?

I'm wondering about the special character in the campaign name.... (i.e. colon)

I can see them as well when I open up from a player instance. However, one of my players just tried from their computer and was still not able to see the character selections.

We have been playing this campaign for about 8 months now. We have not encountered this problem until now.

After double-checking, I can receive player messages but they are not able to see mine.

Nor can they see their own messages in the chat window.

Sounds like a potential connectivity issue.
Either on your side, or your players.
Those can be difficult to track down.
This is probably a good place to start (https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FGCP/pages/1981349889/Network+Troubleshooting).

Have your player disconnect and then clear their cache (go into the FG data folder - press the small folder icon top left of the start screen to get there - and in that folder open the cache folder and delete the folder with your campaign name on it.)
Once they've done that rejoin your game and see if that helps. Make sure as well that you do not have an folders in your rulesets folder or any .tmp files. If so delete those and do an update.

If what Zacchaeus mentioned doesn't help, then ask your player to collect their logs (immediately after experiencing the issue) and then attach them to this thread - details on collecting the log files here: https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FGCP/pages/1242136781/How+to+Compile+Logs

Please provide the logs from both the GM and player for the same session immediately after the issue occurs.

Also, from your description that it affects multiple players, it is most likely something on the GM computer or network that is causing issues. If something outside the application is intercepting or blocking data, all that will show up in the logs is that the data was sent on one side, and not received on the other.
We have a network troubleshooting article on our wiki that you should probably review in detail.

It looks like the problem is a connection issue on my side. I don't have the highest bandwidth. If that is the problem, would using a cloud server eliminate the issue?
Moon Wizard

The GM client is the server for Fantasy Grounds; so there is no ability to run as a "cloud server". There are some people that have run on a separate cloud computer instance using remote desktop interfaces, and installing FG on that instance; but you have to deal with the UI lag associated with logging into a remote desktop, which might be a problem with low bandwidth as well. You'd have to test whether there is a service that hosts machine instances that would work for your situation.
However, the data should eventually get through for players, unless something is interfering such as a security software or router setting that is throttling or limiting data. Did you look through all the options on your security software and router settings for QoS, throttling, packet inspection, etc, as noted in the wiki article I posted?
Some other questions/thoughts:
* What kind of bandwidth are you talking about? (download and upload)
There are several people running on minimal connections without issue.
* What are the specifications for the machine are you running on?
Perhaps it's possible that a slower or older machine just can't keep up.
* You have a lot of modules loaded that aren't even needed (Basic Rules, SRD); plus lots of loaded modules not needed during play. Most people only really need the PHB and the current adventure modules loaded, which will reduce load on your machine as well.
