View Full Version : Host tokens appear transparent

During my games (with 4 players attached) I find my tokens on the host (only) will go transparent in player preview mode even while clearly visible. Closing and repopening the map fixes this until the next time I change active token for the preview. I'm pretty sure this was mentioned before with examples but I can't seem to find the thread. Point being, this is still an issue. Happens when a map has a lot of NPC/PC on it. Does not stop me from doing anything (since I can still see/interact with transparent tokens on host map) but it looks like it thinks (in preview of that selected token) that it can't see things that they clearly can.

Can you be more specific on the exact steps to recreate?

If you have any tokens selected, any "unseen" tokens from the "selected" tokens perspective should be grayed out (assuming that's what you mean by transparent).

Yes obviously visible tokens are "unseen" from various "selected" tokens perspective. I thought I had examples somewhere else in a past post but I can't for the life of me find them in here. I can try and make a duplicable case in raw FGU. I'll pick one of my TONS of tokens maps in the hope that aggravates it into happening. Did not used to happen when lighting first came out - happened sometime in a later update - not sure when.

With remote players I had it happening all the time last night. I even duplicated it here once but now I can't. It's obviously got some trigger that I'm not actually aware of that causes it. All I can say for sure is when it happens - you will never get any preview of a tokens vision to show you any non transparent tokens (always unseen). And only closing the map and reopening it will get it back to normal (though it will usually go right back into that state shortly after) . Only ever happens on the host. I think it might be triggered by clicking on an NPC's token perspective when it does happen but not sure. Sorry, I have no reliable duplicate case. I swear I could do it this morning but just got an update and now I can't.

Maybe today's update fixed it? In particular this one?

Tokens could not see other tokens when only ambient light defined (no special vision or specific light points). Fixed.

If you were using ambient lighting and no other lights, then yes.

I was. I was sure I had posted some examples somewhere a while back - glad to find its solved!
