How to Use the Forge?

I'm sure there are instructions somewhere but I just can't find them. Sorry :(

How does the Forge work? I added content to my Forge inventory but they don't show up in the extensions or the modules in FGU. Is there some kind of activation process I need to do?

EDIT - SOLVED: Found the problem by reading the thread with Forge download problems which implied that you have to use the update function for the extensions and modules to load. I hadn't figured it out because the update button wasn't red as usual when there are updates/downloads available (bug?)

Just edited my post :) No, I hadn't run the update - didn't know I had to, since it wasn't red. Now I know to do that in the future! Thanks
