Hello. I’m looking for information about how to translate and offer a rule set in a different language. The language in question is Japanese and the rule set would be the D&D5E one (likely the open gaming one due to licensing issues). Is there documentation about how to translate and offer something like that or would it have to be a “completely new, custom rule set that just happens to be in Japanese?”
Thank you

Hi chuckyrose, you may want to reach out to James Holloway (
[email protected]), he coordinates most of the community development, and would likely know about translations, or at least who to point you too.

It's unfortunately no longer active, but the LPAK project thread has details and examples of translation (most no longer current, but still good examples): https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?27202-LanguagePak-(LPak)-Community-Project-Program

Both CoreRPG and 5E contain a folder named "string" with some xml documents. You will need to translate the strings found in those folders for a complete translation.
