View Full Version : Windows key interpreted as CTRL

Noticed that the Windows key is interpreted as CTRL in FGU v4.1.12 on Windows 11. For example, if you push and hold the Windows key the hotkey bar in FGU will show C1-C12.

If you press WIN+G to open the built in Xbox Game Bar, Fantasy Grounds will get stuck thinking CTRL is pressed, which causes issues with various actions (e.g. windows resize instead of moving). As a workaround, pushing the Windows key again seems to get FGU unstuck.

To recreate in a new 5E campaign:

Open FGU and open the combat tracker, an image, etc (any window should work).
Hit WIN+G to open Xbox Game Bar
While the Xbox Game Bar overlay is open, you'll see that the hotkey bar in Fantasy Grounds shows the "CTRL" modified hotkey bar (i.e. C1-C12)
Click back to Fantasy Grounds using the mouse (i.e. click on the grey transparent area of the game bar to return to the application)
You should see Fantasy Grounds still thinks CTRL is being pressed. If you try to move the combat tracker window it'll resize it, hotkey bar shows C1-C12, etc.
Push Windows key to get back to normal operation

I'm not sure whether we can do anything about that; because we are simply tracking the key down and key up events passed to us by the Unity game engine. So, we don't have any way to know if we don't get that event. I'll add to our list to investigate.
