Short rest not resetting spell slots

Hello everyone.

So i have this Elf Paladin, which in trance (short rest) it will reset his spell slots. and the only way I can rest them is by appling him a long rest.

on the preparatiion mode. I cannot see how to change the spell from daily to rest.


this is a 5e rulset.

I have tried this with a blank campaing no extensions. and I still have the same result

Spell slots are only recovered during a long rest; and a trance is the equivalent of a long rest. A short rest would only be a 1 hour rest. The trance lasts 4 hours and is the same as any other character taking a long rest. So as far as I can see what your seeing is correct.
