I知 having a great deal of trouble with the Fantasy grounds 2 update. The text is completely unreadable. I have tried resetting the resolution, updating the video drivers, making sure that DirectX is up to date, updating and re-installing Fantasy Grounds 2, and I have tried turning on and off the ClearType feature. None of these actions has solved the problem.

The computer I知 using is a Compaq Presario with an AMD Athlon 64 processor 3200+. It runs at 1.79 GHz, with 896 MB of RAM. I知 using MicroSoft Windows XP home edition. The graphic card is a SiS760. The driver provider is SiS. The driver date is 4/20/2005. The driver version is 6.14.10.3671

The monitor is a Compaq FS 7600 CRT. The screen resolution is 1024X768 and the color quality is set at 32 bit.

Below are links to a few screen shots so that you can see the problem I知 having. I hope that you can help me get this fixed; I really enjoyed playing Fantasy Grounds 1.

How much memory on the graphics board? Is it one of those boards with shared memory?

The SiS is one of the graphics boards that isn't entirely compatible with the DirectX instructions... As per the FAQ (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/faq.php?faq=miscellaneous#faq_black_boxes)

The graphics card is The one that came with the computer. It is on the mother board and I'm not sure how much memory is on it.

Does anyone know if there is a fix for the SiS issues that does not involve replacing the graphigs card?

If there is an option in your video card settings for enabling or disabling anisotropic filtering, trilinear filtering, etc., and those options are currently set to "on" or "always", you should turn them to "off" or "application controlled". Can't be sure that that's what's causing your problem, but it looks like a possibility.

Alas, I shall be more clear...
The SiS card line is not supported by FG or FG2.

You can get the latest driver at driver.sis.com, on the first listbox click Windows XP, on the second IGP Graphics Drivers, on the third SiS66X/SiS76X [etc].

If that isn't enough, you might want to try setting the graphics card's 3D Acceleration to full and if not already enabled, enabling ClearType.

Hope that helps.
