Build Version v4.1.11 ULTIMATE

So I've just built out a version of What's In the Cellar? for CoC7e. I've created the characters that I wish to include as pregens and have set their portraits using images I've packed in a ppk file. When setting the characters portraits I've pointed them at those packed images. Everything looks good, I run /export:

Replication Steps

Select data sections
Drag the characters from the Characters panel to the Exported tokens section
Press Export
Exit FGU
Go to the campaigns folder and move my build campaign to my desktop
Launch FGU and create a new empty CoC7e project
Load my exported module
Go to Library and expand the module contents
Go to the Pregenerated Characters and select one (Note, no portraits are shown on the pre-gens)
Go to the Characters panel and open my restored pregenerated character, I get the attached console error and no portrait or token are shown.

Any help or divine guidance welcome.

Tokens and portraits are not exported along with the characters. This is expected behaviour.

So have I missed the point of the Exported Tokens box? Can you give me a use case example of why I'd use that box in the exporter?

The Exported Tokens box is more for creating token only modules; or adding miscellaneous tokens to another module. Unfortunately, portraits are tied to a specific campaign (files actually live in the campaign and can be set by users); so there is no way to export portraits with pregenerated characters with the current implementation.

So the right thing to do is strip the portrait from the character prior to export right? I don't normally include pre-gens, this is a first for me but thought it might be something nice to do. It's great that it works for NPCs but love to add that as a feature request for character portraits to get backed with NPCs.

Thank you!

You don't need to strip the portrait; it just won't show the portraits because they are tied to the original campaign and are not in the module.

Just a note to those who have the same issue, I found I couldn’t clear the portraits. The only way I could get rid of them and get a clean module export was to first export the characters individually, open the xml and clear the portrait tags contents. Then those cleaned characters could be re-imported into campaign and then exporting the module. On loading the module in a fresh campaign no more console errors.
