View Full Version : Ambient light does not provide vision

Ambient light does not provide vision to any token depending on light when it comes to seeing other tokens, only the map becomes visible. So tokens using darkvision can see other tokens, but tokens using normal vision cannot. Placing a light on the map or disabling lighting makes vision work again.

On a side-note: Disabling Lighting does not refresh the sight of tokens, I first have to click on a token to refresh sight. Enabling Lighting works at once without having to re-click tokens.

For this you need to toggle the LoS button on/off, then the reset should work at once, if I recall this correctly :) (not sure whether it is useful to have a similar behaviour for the lighting toggle)

The Lighting button works immediately when enabled, so I expect it to work immediately when disabled (without having to click on the original token twice to see the change). But that was only a side-note, the main issue is with ambient light not working for token visibility. I edited the original post to better clarify that this only affects seeing other tokens while the map is visible in ambient light.

Here is a screenshot demonstrating how the Darkvision dwarf can see the other tokens under the same circumstances that the Sneaks cannot.

Can you please provide an example campaign with the tokens on the map already with the specified configuration?
Thanks,

This also may be related to extensions; since I was only able to recreate with non-CT linked tokens in a sample campaign (which I have filed).

Above screenshots were done using an empty PF2 campaign, no extensions, only the AP module and PF2 ruleset loaded.

Instead of my usual test campaign I now created a completely new campaign, only loaded the AP module (no ruleset), same result:

It's actually quite important to get an actual campaign where this is happening, because you've obviously added tokens or made some actions on the map at some point.

It's actually quite important to be more self-motivated in the field of service business where problems of your products are concerned, because obviously it is your job to look into documented issues and customers already paid for a supposedly working product at some point (actually two products in this case).

I again remind you to please refrain from making inflammatory comments.
Your previous information was not specific enough to be sure exactly sure what steps were being performed. Per your own posts, you were taking at least a half dozen more steps than just opening a new campaign and the module as noted previously.

I don't expect you to memorize all product names listed in your store, but when a customer posts a shop sold product name and map in a support thread I expect you to use your own shop's search. And I assume that you know how to load an encounter from one of your products/maps without me having to guide you through it. There is nothing tricky for about the procedure for someone fluent in FGU. So you had all the information needed: product name, map name, screenshot of the default encounter being loaded from the sold product and explanation of the issue.
From that point it is your job to take a look at this without the customer having to invest more effort into the support case *before* you even tried properly. You also seem to be under the misconception that you are doing me a favor by looking into this?! No, it's your own product that you sell for money that you are working for. I just made you aware of an obvious and easy to reproduce bug before other customers get hit by it unprepared. Do what you please with this information, but invest more self-motivated effort into it before asking for more effort from us customers.
Personally I noticed it before we play the encounter next session, so I can prepare for it.

I asked you for a specific set of steps, and you provided me with the instructions of "just create a campaign, and load this module". That is not a set of steps. Thank you for providing the steps in your following email.
Your additional commentary and opinion is not necessary and is truly getting to be too much to deal with. I'm closing this thread, since you are no longer providing productive feedback on this matter. If you continue to belittle and attack our team when we try to help you, I will be forced to either stop responding, or remove posting privileges.
