New to FG

Hi,
I have several years of experience playing D&D AL on Roll20.net and was thinking about playing some games on FG.

Do I need a subscription. I see the prices. I do not plan on hosting or DMing a game. Just playing. So do I need a subscription?

Hi Bernie

If you just intend to play, then provided your DM has an Ultimate license, then no, you do not need a subscription, just the Demo version. If the DM only has a Standard license, then players would also need a Standard license.

You will find that the vast majority of DM’s will have Ultimate level, as it allows them to host a game for anyone.

No license is required if you do not intend to build characters on your own time. Your host or gamemaster will need to share their table to have access to the main content, but as @johnecc stated prior, it depends on the GM's license level too.
