Any idea when this will happen? A curious mind wants to know. =)

It's going to be a few weeks off. Paizo only sent us the digital source files last week.

Figured but I just was wondering if there was a date yet. =)

Thanks.

Only been 2.5 weeks I know, but any developments? You rock Trenloe.

Yes, it's developing. No ETA as yet.

Dad, are there yet...Are we there yet...Are we there yet...how about now? :p

Lol, I acknowledged it hadn't been a terribly long time, but I hoped "a few weeks off" and 2.5 weeks were a close enough time frame for a refinement. Ah well.

There's changes needed to the PFRPG2 ruleset in order to support some aspects introduced in Secrets of Magic. This is ongoing and there is currently no ETA for completion.

I'll be honest, the title of this thread is super misleading. If that could be changed or this could be locked, that'd be cool.

I'm not sure what's misleading about the title - it's asking a question "When will Secrets of Magic be released on Fantasy Grounds" and that's what the thread is about.

Not sure if you're serious. I suspect you are the one who changed the title of the thread. But just in case - It was up until earlier today titled "Secrets of Magic released on Fantasy Grounds"

Nope, I didn't touch the title of the thread. Thanks for letting me know that *someone* has changed the thread title. That's what was confusing me.

@SkelebuddyPizzaParty - sorry for not realising the thread title had been changed. Your post makes much more sense to me knowing that.

I recognize this is probably quite a bit of extra work for you all, but I was just curious to know if it is still actively being worked on. I definitely pay quite a bit of money for Fantasy Grounds and it's a little defeating to see programs like Foundry that only require a flat fee already adopting support for the Summoner and Magus classes.

I do appreciate y'alls work, but it is difficult to run my games when the program that I pay for doesn't offer the classes that my players want to use. Thanks so much.

For Magus and Summoner classes check out https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/241/view and https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?70745-PRD-Summoner respectively and you should be able to offer those classes to your players.

Darkrite, thanks so much! I really appreciate this. I'm not quite sure how to use the summoner mod that you linked, but it seems like the magus link will work smoothly. I appreciate your reply.

The mod files you want to put in your modules folder in your FG directory (then restart FG and load the module as you would other books).

If you don't remember where your FG directory is, you can click on Settings in the FG launcher, tab Advanced, Data Directory.

For the Sumomoner Module, just go to your FG folder (there's a shortcut on the FGU's main screen) and paste the file on module folder. Or, for Windows, just do ctrl+r, put %AppData%\SmiteWorks\Fantasy Grounds\modules and it will open the folder for you (I think so).

You can do that on FG too, just don't buy, but create your own modules. Foundry already has the last books because the community did. Unfortunately, we don't have the same culture here as strong as Foundry.

"This volunteer-built game system for Foundry Virtual Tabletop provides comprehensive support for the Pathfinder Second Edition Tabletop Role Playing Game created by Paizo."

But, yes, I'm waiting for the official and a bit sad because the "delay" on releases, 1st because is how I can buy the PDF without paying a lot of taxes (by Steam) and 2nd because I'm GMing PF2 Society, but the modules always are released months after I already played/GM'ed (GM'ed is a word?)

Fizban's treasury of dragons gets support almost immediately.....

Yet here we are well over 2 months later still waiting for Secrets of Magic for PF2.

This is getting ridiculous.

Different rulesets, different content developers with different real life distractions and overall product development priorities. If you weren't aware, FG DLC products are produced by community developers, not full time SmiteWorks employees. Sometimes real life has serious impacts on our ability to convert large, complex products.

Ridiculousness and real life shenanigans aside, Secrets of Magic is nearly complete - just some ruleset changes needed; so that means we need to wait for the current core beta test to be complete before we can put it into test and QA review. Latest update on the beta test here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?71007-Beta-Release-2021-11-Ruleset-Updates&p=627791&viewfull=1#post627791

Does the "ruleset changes needed" mean SoM will release with a way to sync player and eidolon hp automatically?

Trenloe will be able to answer that better, kaernunnos, but it took a lot of work just to get automation in for the new classes, all those new spells, plus the feats, etc. I know Tren would love nothing better than to have the time to do a full revamp on the whole Familiar, Companion, Eidolon aspect of PF2, but that's a significant project and with all the changes to Core, the long list of items previously in his list for this next big Ruleset Release, I didn't even ask for that change because there's a lot that would go into it.

What I will do, though, is everything I can to support Secrets of Magic to help bridge the gap until the day comes when it's not needed. So, expect to see a Secrets of Magic: Compendium soon, and for those aspects that aren't currently automated, we can discuss approaches to implementing them by hand in the meantime. I have already added all the Eidolon in the drag-n-drop companions module, so having their stats and uses available will be there and I am sure there are some clever approaches to getting some of the odd rules to work on FGU that will make it all work in the end :)

Hope that answered your question, at least as far as I can give as the person who tackled tacking on that puppy. ;)

Just out of curiosity, how would someone move towards becoming a community developer, or help contribute to Fantasy Grounds development? I'm not applying, what with my ~10 posts or so, lol, but just wondering. I tried scanning stickied threads across a few of the forum categories but didn't see anything obvious. Thanks again for all the updates and help!

I knew it was a long shot before a major release.

@ Devs: Our Group wants to start the Strength of Thousands AP in january. We need the Secrets of Magic module for this. Please tell me if the release of the module needs weeks or rather months. If this takes too long we would use work-a-rounds, otherwise we would just wait.

Welcome to the FG forums. Hopefully it will only be a case of weeks.

Murry has determined that was a lie. =) PS that is a joke. Came back on here to see if there was any news. Same with Guns and Gears. =)

I see there is none.

I love it when I am joking here. I get some Grouchy person in my comments saying. Even had a Smiling Face and Saying Just had to do it. Some people can't see the ball right in front of there face.

No need to be pissy literally the day after an update saying the things causing the delay are finally taken care of.
