Making a new thread to support my deckplans on the Forge.

I really didn't like many of the sci-fi asset packs available for use with Traveller so I made my own. Mostly 3d modeled and rendered assets used in the deckplans which I load into Arkenforge. I'm refining and creating more assets as I go as well. Eventually I'll release the asset pack but right now its just a mess and disorganized. Comments and suggestions welcome. :-) They currently include LOS and I plan on adding lighting eventually once I figure out a way I like.

starport 2 MegaCorp (8 level Mega Corporation building)

CRW Hex Mapping: Hex Mapping, templates, hex assets, building assets, space combat map.
Cepheus Blue Theme: Made for Cepheus ruleset but works fine in MGT2.

Working on:

Some addon buildings to corporate district. megacorp battlemap. done
Gov District 95% done (on hold pending Blender import of starport) done (in supplemental)
adding lighting to starport 1 building interiors. Done.
added lighting and fixed LOS on deckplans. Done
Updated Starport preview maps lighting. Done
added some top-down ship assets to free vehicles 1 forge item. done

working on tram station and central hotel complex and starport content underground.
probably port the small starship pad w/los and lighting here.
first starport token release. Done

1+ year on Fantasy grounds and I didn't know about Forge :confused:
Added the Small ship deck to my inventory, plans to use it next week.

Looking forward for the Subsidised Merchant :)

Can't find the new Small Craft deckplans in FG. Should it be visible as a extension?
I have updated and looked in extensions, library/modules, images and spacecrafts but can't find anything for the new Small Craft deckplans.

Its installed to the vault so I don't think? it shows up in your typical modules folder. You should be able to see it in Images under catagory "CRW Deckplans". The Forge is really new. (couple weeks old) which is probably why you hadn't heard of it. If its not updating there may be something wrong with the distribution. If that's the case, you could ask on the support forum for "House of Healing - Forge". They're been very responsive as usual. Sorry things aren't working! Let me know what it tuned out to be if you can.

Make sure your using Prod FGU and not Test channel? Just guessing from reading some of the support forums. Your probably better off in their hands.

It's relatively new (i.e. within the last month or so).

Since we have one in our current campaign I did a serpent class scout. One of my favorites. I posted it on the forge but it can take some time for it to get approved. I'll post it to live once it does.

Just now noticed that I called the thread Deskplans and not Deckplans. Wow. Might start another thread... Might just keep it that way. :-) Leaning towards keeping it that way. They are plans I make at my desk I suppose.

I just wanted to pop in and thank you Pharoid! I am prepping for my first game since picking up your maps. I knew on the Forge previews I was already going to enjoy your deck plans but I am blown away at the LoS implementation and the link back pins to the sourcebooks.

That’s awesome! I agree there just isn’t much out there for Traveller specifically. I’m always looking for assets! That’s my only complaint about FG is the lack of Sci Fi assets. Unfortunately Roll 20 has a bunch and most of the good ones are only able to be used there…

One of the token sets we need is a mix of missiles(Antimatter, Decoy, Fragmentation, Nuclear, etc) to track salvos on the space battle map. something you'd be interested in working on?

I have thought about making some single missiles and salvo tokens or images and maybe sand. What space battle map are you using? Would just a regular single square token work on it? There are a few space battle maps floating around.

I'm using this, without a grid, so we can just move the ships and tokens around in the range bands freely. Need to be pretty unrestrained right now, since the space combat tracker is not really fully automated at the moment
I am realizing that I will need to create dummy ship registries for the sand and missiles, in order to put them on the combat tracker, since there not really any other way to get a token onto a map that I've been able to figure out. hmmmmm *thinking face*

Starport maps has been taking all my limited free time lately. I'll try to render up some missiles and drones this weekend. It would be nice to have something for drones and missiles for future deckplans too.

Still plugging away on starport maps. No progress on missiles. :-( Got sidetracked making a multi-purpose 50 ton cargo/tow/lift ship. STILL waiting for Traveller Companion. Hopefully we see some ruleset updates soon too. crossing my fingers.

Currently my main starport map is 10,700x7500 px, 3.96MB (was 8MB before further compression) and the other few will be the same. Thats pretty big and it has to be (its a starship landing pad after all). I can break it up by building I suppose with an overview with pins for each section. But is that really that bad? especially for FGU with decent internet? One of our players is on a tethered cell-phone and another is on starlink and the worse that happens is someone has to wait a bit for load while we BS. I'm hosting from WIFI so its only that fast too. First release might be big huge maps with a warning. :-) I'm getting lazy.

Easily have 100+ hours into this in modeling, rendering, mapping, LOS, manual just for this starport project. Original plan was to release it in stages on the forge. starport 1 would be the 100-200 ton pad, starport 2 the repair/refit bays and starport 3 the large pad and starport 4 parts of the the actual starport hub. waiting on more specific guidelines which would or would not allow us to charge for forge items and outline other requirements for MGT2. Thought about maybe trying to release it as a in-progress dontation based project like a kickstarter but on the Forge? That would be charging technically so that's out for now. So rather than focusing on a staged release, I pretty much have 80% of starports 1,2 and 3 done and even started on 4. Hoping we get some kind of TAS agreement like DTRPG has soon. In the meantime, I'll post occasional screenshots of what would have been starport 4-10.4989149892

I have an unrequited love of deckplans and these are wonderful. While the black and white ones I usually see are nice and simple...having ones in color are much more immersive during an adventure.

can you add/ tweak variants that are less developed for border starports that you might encounter in border regions like the Trojan Reach?

Finished some outside battlemaps that I'll be adding to starport 1 soon on the forge. More detailed outside maps that are to-scale for dropping tokens and vehicles on etc... 4 maps w/los and lighting this time.51594

I love your deck plans and thanks for taking the time todo this. Quick reminder how do I get this on my FGU account to use. I have three of the ships but I forgot how I got them to my account. Used the Far Trader in the capture of Mira Silverhand.

First you purchase them on the forge (just about all of mine are free). then when you update FantasyGrounds from the fantasygrounds launcher it will load them and they'll be available to select from within fantasygrounds. In Fantasygrounds you go to Library->Modules-><"module Activation". You'll see available modules there. Scroll through those until you see it and activate it. Is that what you meant? :-)

Hello Phariod, do you have a good 2d deckplan of the Treasure Ship from the POD campaign. Or do you know where I can find one. I can add the LOS to it if needed, it won't be as nice as what you do but it will work.

No. Sorry. :-( the only Drinax ship I did was the Harrier. I did a quick google search as well and did not find anything but some cool art of it.

How do I make an inline image that shows the image by default? Do my attachments show up as images or do you all have to click on them? I have to click on them.

Updating the free deckplans to have lighting and fixing LOS issues on some of them as I go. So far I've updated:

Scouts
Merc Cruiser (this one took a bit of time) :-)
Traders (free and far)
Emperess Marva (or however you spell it)
Harriers

If you already own them (they're free to grab) run the updater and check em out. let me know how they look/function. my eyes are starting to cross. :-) If you dont have them, grab em! I'm slowly working through the rest so keep your eyes out.

Finished adding lighting and fixing LOS on Serpent,Subsidised merchant.

Fixed LOS on Small craft. Skipped lighting for now on this one.

Just got therock left.

some are pending review yet so it could be approved in a few mins... or tomorrow. :-) Haven't had a lot of luck getting quick approvals Sunday night west-coast time. :-)

You still missing the front cargo door Subsidised merchant and the right door is a little funky.

Yep. Thanks for the feedback! I could probably add more terrain LOS too like you did. btw.. did you notice that some walls blocked sight but not movement before I updated them? I didn't notice until I started to add light a few days ago. :-( It was only the first round of ships I did and I think the sub merch was one of them. Fixed the Scouts bed and fixed the sub merch's top and side doors. Top door is a toggleable wall. Door didn't want to do a curve gracefully. waiting for approval on the sub merch. the scout should be ready.

Just watched the video and was really impressed with the quality and extra assets. I haven't run a Traveller game in almost a year but those maps give me some ideas. :)

Fixed/added lights to the free starport preview map. Just the big 25px map. it was too dark and needed more lights. Remember if you update and you've made changes/los/light/assets to the map I updated you wont see it. You need to make a copy of the map you've made changes to and select "revert changes" when right clicking over the module in the module window. Then you'll have the fresh updated map and you can go to the images window and see your saved map for that campaign.

free top-down 1/4 scale (25px) starship assets added to the Vehicle 1 forge item. I took the main level (Ground touching level) of most of my free decklans and shrunk them to 25px PNG's so you can drop them in battlemaps. i already noticed the shipsboats consoles have an issue. Will fix that in a later update. most are just the deckplan view but I did add an outside view scout, shipsboat and another. Not my best work but better than nothing I suppose. Will add to them as I go.

Sure.

For my starship deckplans:
arkenforge: for map creation and layout. I also use some of their sci-fi addons for assets.
hexagon (any modeller would work): I 3d modeled most of the assets I used and imported them into arkenforge.
bryce 7.1: imported 3d asset models into bryce and rendered from the top-down.
gimp: for image touch-up, textures, saving asset png's with alpha channel, adding text, sizing and increased jpg compression.

For the starport maps I'm also using blender for modelling and rendering. I'm also starting to mix in more Arkenforge sci-fi assets

I am using CC3+ cosmographer, and though they do not turn out as nice as yours they are functional. You are far deeper into teh graphic design then I am for 3D modelling I use 3D studio max, and I do draw some floorplans in AutoCAD before importing them into CC3+.

You do a very nice job, Kudo's.

Can anyone confirm that the "CRW Vehicles" module has a "Ships" folder in its assets with some smaller top-down views of shiips? I pushed an update out some time ago with that addition and just want to confirm that it made it. My GM is having issues locating it even after reverting changes.

Starport Supplemental is now on the forge. Includes the Government district and a buncha 25px starpoirt maps. Industrial, shipyard, warehouse, starport ground entrance/exits. 19 25px maps and 1 2 storry warehouse at 100px.
