Afternoon all,

2300AD 2E has been released by Mongoose. After what seems nearly forever, it's arrived and is available to pre-order.

We shall be bringing this to Fantasy Grounds, hopefully in time with the physical box release, what will you get?

New 2300AD Theme
2300AD Ruleset (based on Traveller 2E - but its own thing)*

As with 2300AD 1E, 2E requires you to own the Traveller Core Rulebook, however, we're discussing how to do this with FG (to help save some money!).

* Basing the ruleset on Traveller 2E saves a lot of time and saves a few issues. Going forward they'll diverge, meaning a better ruleset for each of the rulesets without worrying about some dev affecting the other. There are tricks that allow me to share updates with both if required.

Hi, I read a couple of reviews that said the box set doesn’t include character creation rules, that they are coming in a future supplement. Is that correct?

If so, it would be a bit rude I think, one would expect not to have character generation in quickstart rules, but a full release box set should have them.

It uses the Character Generation rules based on the Mongoose Traveller 2nd Ruleset, which is why it says you need that book. However, it's only got the guide for generating Frontier characters, not Core, which has led people (including myself) to be a bit disgruntled.

But that aside, it's simply beautiful, and this is just the PDF release, I hope enough people voicing what they want adding it, could make it for the print edition.

I'm reading the pdf of the Bayern boxed set now. Do you still think this will come to FG? I know your personal release schedule is already an overflowing plate...

2300AD is being merged into the Traveller ruleset at the moment, so it shall soon be ready for testing again.
