View Full Version : Token vision seems inaccurate

So I'm not sure if i'm doing something wrong but I made a default character with 60ft darkvision and am trying to test out the dynamic lighting for line of sight and whatnot, but it appears the token vision is pretty much only hindered by the wall layers and not at all by the player characters listed perception. Is there something I missed? I was having some trouble getting the lighting to become visible in the first place so im sure I probably forgot something.

* Do you have the Lighting toggle turned on for the map in the Play mode section of the image data panel? If the toggle is off, then lighting is ignored.
* Do you have ambient lighting on the map from the Light mode section of the image data panel? If so, then the player's standard vision will see everything.

It's hard to say without seeing all the data; or having you posts an example campaign.

Yea I get that, sorry for not providing more I'm kind of fumbling around some of the newer features in unity working on a long term project and was having trouble finding much specific information on tweaking token specific line of sight functions on the maps. Drawing out walls was pretty strait forward but I must of been doing something with the ambient lighting or something possibly. The first struggle was just getting the token LoS's to appear which seemed like it may of just been my client bugging a little, but yea I want to be as familiar as possible with the systems as it's been a decent few years since I used it back before unity was a thing. This morning I popped back in before work to take a look at what you mentioned, I didn't seem to have ambient lighting on, though turning it on seemed to have no negative effect (will have to play more with it), and general map lighting is necessary from what ive seen to even establish the baseline to see any kind of LoS functionality from your tokens. Perhaps I just needed to reset that tokens LoS (I did before turning the lighting back on, so i didn't see it change in real time, but upon re-enabling the lighting I noticed the sight radius seemed to be correct, and I was no longer seeing what was essentially shadow artifacts of the previous areas the token had traversed and made visible.
