Not certain if this has been asked for but I would love some way of sending a message to people who paid for my creations. Better yet to a filtered / selected set of purchasers. I don't need to know who they are but getting a message to them directly would be nice.
My need is that I have a tool that I originally set FREE. I now have some who have paid for the tool as paid. I want to inform those that PAID for it to know that there is a new tool they are entitled to for free.
I obviously can't do that except by posting on the forum and I haven't had any contact me so far.
Thoughts? Help?

Note, the Feature Request list has a category for making requests against the Forge. I think its a better place to make such requests than this thread.

Nevermind. I understand your post now.

Has this been suggested? Probably but I'm not a regular.
I'd like to see a Faction gui added to FGU. It seems they come up more and more in modern and hidden in older ones.
This may require characters to have an "Alliance/Antagonists" screen where we can drag Factions to the sheet.
The Factions gui should have an hierarchy screen with members with descriptions how other factions are allies or enemies.
Faction resources and current missions with maybe a timeline if those meddling kids don't interfere.
I'm sure this could be expanded, but it could really help with organizing a player's story.

That seems like it could be done with existing extensions such at the Players Journal from MadNomad.

My players use that for notes all the time.

That's very cool. Thanks for the recommendation. Not exactly what I'm looking for. I think mine would be a campaign addition rather than a players' note addition. But still very cool.

Interesting idea, but I think it's going to be very game system and user/GM dependent on how they envision things. Seems like a great use for an extension. But, you can add the idea to the Feature Request list: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featurerequests
Note that this thread is actually for suggestions for the FG Forge, not FG itself. But it pre-dates the creation of the link above and ideas for the Forge can also be put on the webpage linked above.

It would be very cool but if I've learned anything from our convo in the Map Obscuring post is that this would add too much burden on devs. Especially when it can be done with free extensions.

Player Agency has a world builder that includes a sheet for groups that can be used to keep track of important individuals and other notes. You can drag NPCs to the Individuals section in Group Tab https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/511/view
Individual notes can be taken in Mad Nomad's Journal (without upgrade it's free): https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/619/view
With Strings and Pins, you can create Hierarchy Tables in corkboards and you can even use pictures. You can use it as a background decal. And also add pins to it. https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/1711/view
Calendar Plus already has a Timeline View that you can add notes. https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/82/view
And if you want to add companions / cohorts to any character, you can use Friend Zone: https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/170/view
Hope this helps.

I have been using all of these except for the Strings and Pins. They are great, but would be better if there something implemented in the base game to cover these to avoid Update breakings (especially for the MNM & Friend Zone stuff). Don't think I've come across any update issues with Player Agency.

Yeah, that would be cool! Especially the hierarchy tables. I once saw a parody of world of darkness - hunter the reckoning hierarchy table of an evil org. in which the devil was on top named "Stan", and under that funny pictures with funny names as lower ranks. :D I always wanted to do imitate that for a laugh.
Breaking updates is an issue, yeah. Right now, with so many addons, Friend Zone gives an error (no pic found). NMM sometimes (after updates) takes over Action tab completely and won't let me use attacks / spells. Player Agency and Strings & Pins are the smooth ones.
I hope devs actually add it if it won't burden them. I'm checking the wishlist and giving my vote to it.
EDIT: I was gonna say "Also, once again, sorry for the trouble, clae" :)

I would like to see an increase of picture size allowed for upload or - even better - allow upload of webp images. 300kb for a jpg is rather small if you want to have a real screenshot without blurry text etc..

When a craft is new, and good, it rapidly gains purchases. Life is good for the crafter, life is good for SmiteWorks!
The Problem
As soon as the craft is bumped to the 3rd or 4th page, though...well, sales and subscribers dramatically drop (from multiple purchases a day, for many days, to a sudden drop of one purchase per week, if even). Of no fault of the product, or of the community's interest; it's the reality of online store infrastructure; imagine if Home Hardware consisted of one aisle, the aisle had a default setting of "new first", and to get to other aisles you had to walk down a flight of stairs. Janky metaphor aside, crafts—like games—need to reach a specific number of subs to make regular sales off of community word-of-mouth, and our current system does not manage to grant current craft entrees the limelight required to establish that.
The Solution
To maintain a more steady stream of sales, online stores like Steam, Itch.io, and Amazon, use a series of additional marketing UI.
While a simple one to implement is the sidebar that says (and shows) "Other extensions commonly used with this one" (followed by the name and smaller thumbnail image of three extensions, and a scroll bar to load in more), a much more important marketing UI addition (to extend the limelight of new-and-hot stuff) would be adding a frontpage hot-but-also-relevant-to-you scroller.
Think of Steam's scroller: 67201
It's designed to hit people with a big, beautiful primary advertising image, and optional secondary reference images to beckon user engagement with curiosity.
Easy to implement. Start with the code from the craft page image scroller (the 7 picture reference scroller at the bottom of craft product pages), or the one in the FG launcher. It should:
Prioritize things that are at least popular enough to have the chance of standing the test of time (e.g., 10 subs in two days as hard cutoff—even from a user standpoint, seeing "Most popular forge crafts this week (paid)" showcase things with 3 subs wouldn't fly here), and
Of those popular things, the order in which it shows them should be prioritized based on the user's current library purchases and subscriptions (relevant).
