View Full Version : Unique Rolls on Table/Story Entries

TLDR: If you are rolling on the same table multiple times, using a story page/generator, is there any way to make each roll unique so the story/generated page doesn't have a duplicate result (off the same table)?

Explanation:

I'm making a Tarroka deck. I don't own CoS so I'm not sure if there's one already made in there. I am going to be using this in my own Ravenloft adventure, as well as a character backstory generator. I want to automate a 'reading' so I can hit one button and generate a total of seven cards. Three for the past, one for present and three for the future (I'll have a different card layout for the character generator/separate generator). When I am 'drawing' the cards, I don't want there to be any duplicates? Is this possible?

Thanks, in advance, for the answers.

Don't use the hot bar to roll on a table. I think it re-uses the same seed.

Use a story template to make the "cards" as a story. See the new capabilities here; https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?69575-Story-Template-Discussion-Thread

No, is the answer - you can't make something roll and remove results that have already been rolled. You could try this extensions which does do that https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?23099-Basic-Card-Tables-Extensions

Thanks, I believe that's exactly what I was looking for!

Ah, Mine wasn't very helpful as I don't think I understood. You wanted an already rolled value to not be available the next time you roll.

As usual, Mr. Z is right, you will need an extension to do that.
