View Full Version : "Primal Companion" not showing up as an "Optional Replacement" for the Ranger

When levelling or creating a Beast Master (directly, or with the Creation Wizard, either way), most of the Tasha's options come through, but not Primal Companion (the replacement for Ranger's Companions).

The text for the feature is all there in the Reference Manual view, but it doesn't show up as part of the Class.

That's a tricky one since the option is part of an archetype rather than part of a class and that archetype doesn't appear in Tasha but only in the PHB. I'll add a note to the Ranger Archetype ability in Tasha to point out that there is an option if you choose Beastmaster.

Thanks. I suppose we'll have to make do with simply copying the text in as an Ability manually then.

Is there a possibility to add the feature into the PHB module, but with a check for "only if Tasha's is also loaded"? Or is that sort of inter-module interaction not something that's really doable?

It isn't something that is doable currently. Archetypes (and abilities) aren't things which exist on their own; they are always part of a class and clearly I can't include things from one book in another for obvious reasons.
