View Full Version : Automated Prone when Unconscious

A frequent chore I do in FGU mid-session is manually applying the Prone effect to PCs who are rendered Unconscious.

There are very few cases where unconscious creatures wouldn't also be prone, and every time an unconscious PC is healed to consciousness they still need to have the Prone effect on them until their turn comes up so they can stand up again (or they might even prefer to stay prone if under fire).

Is this not automated by design?

If a PC is unconscious they automatically grant advantage to attack rolls and fail DEX and STR saving throws. They are not automatically prone however.

In some situations like aquatic or sci-fi environments, the person unconscious would not always be prone.

Indeed. What I'm wondering is, why wouldn't the PCs be automatically set to prone, too, when they're set unconscious. It's extra manual work to always apply the prone condition myself. Perhaps I'm missing something (other than someone's game taking place in aquatic or outer space environments)

No, you aren't missing anything. Its simply that this hasn't been coded in the ruleset to be automatic. You can add it to the suggestions if you want - link in my signature.

OK, I added the suggestion. Thanks!

Yeah, I've been having to manually do this.
I would like to see it done with both effects going on the target at the sametime, so you can choose to remove prone even if they are unconscious for the very very rare times it happens.
