Hi,

After starting up my campaign, and loading modules, like the "Player Handbook" ect.

Then when I close fantasy grounds and start up my campaign again, all the modules I loaded have been unloaded.

Sometimes I also notice the sidebar unloading.

In addition, I experienced a few times this day, but haven't anymore an error message, that Fantasy Grounds Unity didn't have writing permission.
Though after not seeing this message anymore I dismissed the warning, it was also only triggered when I was launching two windows of Fantasy Grounds Unity.

Should I reinstall fantasy grounds? It was something the error message recommended, and it might fix this odd issue I'm experiencing?

Thanks!

Where did you point the data folder to? The installer doesn't actually let you change where the program is installed, just the data folder. If you thought it was were the program was going to get installed and changed it to the program files folder, then you've got a few options to fix it. Easiest would be to uninstall, reinstall, and when you get to the part where it asks where you want the data folder to be at, make sure it says "C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Roaming\Smiteworks\Fantasy Grounds\" as that's the default installation for the data folder.

The other options are to change the permissions on the data folder to allow regular users to write/modify, but I'd only suggest that if you know Windows permissions settings in the first place. Last option is to always launch Fantasy Grounds as an Administrator.

It does in fact sound like you have a permissions issue. FG writes it's data to your data folder (click the small folder icon on the top left of the start screen to find where that is). If you do not have the correct permissions set then FG can't write data to that folder and therefore nothing will get saved.

The current FGU installer should fix any read/write permissions; but it's not unknown for your anti virus to just go right ahead and switch them back. So I'd suggest that you make sure that you have a rule in your anti virus excepting Fantasy Grounds for both the installation and data folders and then reinstall FG to see if that fixes your issue.

Hi, thanks for your thorough responds :)

The data folder is installed at the default location: C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Roaming\Smitework s\Fantasy Grounds\
-it also has writing permission, after checking.

So might not be related to why my modules keep unloading?

Thanks!

Thanks Zacchaeus!
I will give a reinstall a try! :)

Though first will check out the virus scanner!

It works :)!

After making an exception rule for my virus scanner, it now saves the modules that I've loaded :)

Thanks again Zacchaeus
