Unable to apply Bold & Italic formatting in one go

It seems in Unity I am no longer able to apply Bold and Italic formatting in one go. Now I have to select twice and apply each formatting. This is quite time consuming and I wonder if there is way to bring this functionality back?

Any chances you are using any extensions, especially those that alter text or languages? What ruleset and text fields are you trying to edit or use? Story entries? I was never able to keep the text selections active to perform more than one of the shortcut text commands that I am aware of. The text selection was never available for me to perform two text functions, not one after another, in Unity. Classic still does allow this function. Either way, can we please have that in Unity?

No extension, this is during data entry. Basic CoreRPG.

I create story, I select text, then I am clicking ctrl+b, the selection is cleared automatically and I have to select again to make it italic with ctrl+i. Quite cumbersone.

Yes, we need this back.
