View Full Version : Cannot uninstall or load campaign

Hello,

I'm having an issue in FGU where I can't load a campaign that's been ongoing for a few months. When I do, instead of loading the campaign I go into an update loop that takes me back to the main menu again. This will happen again and again every time I click "Load Campaign".

I am also unable to Uninstall - it does the same thing.

Can anyone tell me the proper procedure for a complete manual uninstall?

All the files are located in the two folders that you define in your FG Settings for App Folder and Data Folder. Make sure to backup your campaigns folder under the FG Data Folder before making any changes or deletions. The only other data is stored in the Windows registry (assuming Windows OS), which includes app/data folder locations.

I would try the following steps first:
* Go to the folder specified by the FG App Folder setting.
* Delete all the FG App Folder completely (not just the files inside).
* Delete the shortcut link for FG on your desktop and in your start menu (if any)
* Re-install from web site.

I wouldn't touch the data folder for now, since that's just the raw data that the client loads, but also contains your campaign data which I assume you want to keep.

If that doesn't work, I would try renaming the images/tokens folder under the FG Data Folder (in case you've added image/token files).

I tried the manual uninstall method outlined above, but that didn't work, so I decided to go ahead and reformat my computer.

Unfortunately, this hasn't fixed the issue - I'm still going into update loops. Something that's a bit different now is I'm entering my username/password under settings and the next screen says "no username and password entered". I know I'm entering the right credentials (they work on the site) so I'm at a complete loss here.

This does make it sound like a permission issue either by the OS or Security Software. You might want to contact customer support so they can troubleshoot with your directly.

Do you have any non-standard symbols in your password? I had a § in my password and could not login into the FGU app, the forum worked just fine. After I've changed my password, the problem went away :) Might be worth a shot.

The only location your campaign data is stored is on your PC and anywhere that you back that up to.
I do hope that you backed up your campaigns.
