The Demo and Rulesets

Does anyone know if custom rulesets can be used with the demo? I have some friends (who are not local) whom I'd like to convince to purchase FG for a non-d20 game. And therein, as it was once wrote, lies the rub.

No. You can't use anything other than what comes with the demo with it.
