Are there any plans to go with a hosting model? Something where the DM isn't the host and all the clients are at the mercy of the DMs connection.

I could see a scenario where FG would be a great candidate for a Kubernetes container. Host the container in AWS, Azure or GCP. FG already has a breakout between system executables and a data directory. Don't want the upgrade just yet then don't load the latest container. It would make regression testing for all the module and extension creators simpler.

The DM could login with DM credentials to obtain the correct permission and all clients join normally.

The devs have never spoken about such. But honestly I suspect the evaluation of such a possibility is in their 5 year plan. Of course, it could be at the front or end of that plan :O

Remember, container are still relatively new, it takes time for such to trickle down to the smaller businesses that are already swamped with enhancements requests.

That would be: https://fgapp.idea.informer.com/proj/?ia=135371 to start with. And with a hosting model, there would be additional costs to running it.
