Just bought the Unity version, previously owned the other version,

Both Steam and both installed in the D:/ directory.

When using the Unity Version and following the instructions in the install, it does start up the install. but on the second stage of the install I get an unknown error.

Welcome to the FG forums.

Are you using the same directories for FG Classic and FG Unity on your D drive?

No its in this directory.

D:\Fantasy Grounds
And FG Classic is in a different directory?

Also, is your FGU application and FGU data directories different? One holds the FantasyGrounds.exe application (and other application files) and one holds all of your data - rulesets, campaigns, etc..

Try downloading the installer direct from the FG website here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/filelibrary/FGUWebInstall.exe

And follow the installation instructions here: https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FGCP/pages/996639303/Installing+Fantasy+Grounds+Unity

Ok quick question.

I notice one is trying to install to my C:\ Drive which I've changed to try to make it the D:\ Drive, but when I look at the drive path, That C:\ drive is actually going to my user profile. I'd originally changed this automatically as I didn't want it on my C:\ drive since that's for OS only.

After what you said, I am assuming NOW that there are actually 2 directories it has to install to and only ONE of those should be the D:\ Drive... the other is the User Profile on the C:\ drive...

Is this correct?

The default directories are:
- Application files C:\Program Files\SmiteWorks\Fantasy Grounds
- Data C:\Users\<your windows username>\AppData\Roaming\SmiteWorks

Ok I've now tried the Steam Version a second time with the same results... but changed the directories.

I then downloaded the linked version you gave me. For both tests I altered the drive paths to these.

Application Files to D:\Fantasy Grounds
Data Files to D:\Fantasy Data

No luck...

Check that your anti virus software isn't interfering. You'll need an exception for the installation directory.

That looks like something is blocking/interrupting the download. It could be a number of things - local security software, Internet router or ISP.

Make sure your local network connection is set to Private, not Public.
Check that your Internet router doesn't have any flood protection enabled - this happened to me recently.

Purely for testing purposes - if you have access to a VPN, try updating using that. Also, for testing, if you can use your cellphone for an Internet connection - see if that works. This will help to identify what might be blocking the download.

Well tomorrow I will be at a completely different location with a completely different provider so I can try it then.
