Hi all,
Is it possible to have an enemy token be visible on the map, but not visible on the Combat Tracker?
I love that with Line of Sight and now Lighting, enemies only appear on the map when the PC moves to a position to actually perceive them, but the "surprise" is somewhat blown if the PCs have the Combat Tracker open...

I don't think this is possible at the moment.
Workaround, or how atleast I do it:
1. Place Encounter in CT
2. Place NPC CT Tokens on the map if not already prepopulated through Encounter
3. View through player vision
4. If they are in range or vision unhide the NPC in the CT
There is an open suggestion in the idea informer about something like what you suggested.

Another workaround would be drag a token directly from the tokens bag to the map. It would just be a token unconnected to any creature, but it would appear on the map as you want. (You could also type a name in the chatbox and drag it onto the token so it has a visible 'name' on the map.) Then when it's time for combat you could delete the token, make the monster visible on the tracker, and drag it onto the map in the right place.

If you want to show a monster on the map before revealing it on the combat tracker, place the monster as normal through an encounter but leave the monster(s) hidden on the tracker. Then right click on the monster token on the map and select Visibility -> Set Always Visible. Keep in mind this will show the token regardless of LOS so obviously do it only when they should see the creature.
I use to do this a lot when I didn't roll initiative each round to hide exactly what the monsters initiative was and then just unhide them on the tracker when they went on the first round.

This will solve your problems. However, it is to be noted that it isnt official. I think this should really be part of the core package of FGU.

This extension can do this as well:
