I am late to starting playing with this because its been around for a long time but here I am.

I have watched most of the short videos on how to create a character sheet with more core.

From reading the forums i see a few of the rulesets need updating.

I understand code and it is fairly easy ro follow along. Just trying to figure out what does what. Don't have much time or much experience playing but love reading to various books and just imagining the different worlds.

So the question is where should I start?

Welcome!

Well, to start doing what? If you just want to be a player, find a game and join. If you are looking to run a game, what system? Running a game like D&D you can just use the existing rulesets and buy what products you need. For example, see; https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?32987-What-do-I-need-to-play-5e

If the game you want to run doesn't have a dedicated ruleset, you can use CoreRPG or MopreCore. If you've chosen MoreCore, start here; https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?47382-MoreCore-Info

Whichever path you are going, read the manual and sign up for a free class or three at www.fantasygroundscollege.net (https://www.fantasygroundscollege.net)

Also watch for Con games and 1 shots that you can plan around so you can play a block of time.

Join a late night game on a weekend, or start one.

As a DM I found that parents with kids often find it easier to play on weeknights after the kids are in bed, because weekends are usually too busy.

For a while, I was running what I titled "Working Parent Game Night" which was on Wednesday from 7 pm to 10 pm with no strict obligation to play every week. It was quite busy and quite popular. Then COVID hit and my worklife mugged my casuallife.
