Monthly subscriptions (How comes my monthly subscription)

So I pay a monthly subscription to smite works.

Fine. I can cancel if I want rather than pay for the one off fee.

But how comes it doesn’t give me benefits over and above buying as a one off.

I could say the same thing for buying the onetime fee of over $120 and not the monthly subscription that could be cancelled at any time. For buying that, why not get a free LMoP campaign too? You get what you get, there are no hidden surprises or extra fees which I love about FGU and why I purchased it. I don't have to worry about something coming up and charging me $20 to continue.

BTW, I am not asking for anything for free! Just making a point, you could go either way if there was something offered for free.

Another issue is that most of the content in the store was done by a 3rd party developer. Giving stuff away free deprives those developers of any compensation.

Pay the subscription, get used to the software then sink in the cash for a full license.

There is free stuff, there is also paid for stuff.

So there's nothing I see when i look at the ad for paying monthly indicating it includes additional goodies like a monthly adventure, token pack, etc. So why is it even logical to assume paying monthly entitles you to such things?

We as a society do not generally assume random free stuff when we pay a utility bill, mortgage, etc. So why in this case should one expect differently?
