Foegotten Realms campaign setting

I am starting a game using the Forgotten Realms. I have been installing the maps from the Forgotten Realms Interactive Atlas. The plan is to start the game(s) on July 21 this is a Saturday. Character geration is 4d6 drop the lowest for six stats. All first level characters will start with max hit points. Equipment will be the listings in the players hand book, and/or Arms and Equipment; no master work or magic items for first level characters. Things will start in and around Water Deep. Character classes are from any of the listed sources; all I ask is that you give the book and page referance so i can read up on the class.

sources: players Handbook, Player's Guide to Faerun, Unearth Arcana, Complete Warrior, Expanded Psionics Handbook (these classes will be very rare)
Equipment sources will include Arms and Equipment Guide and the players handbook. prices are book prices for starting characters Again no magic or master work items.

Just guessing from the time of your post that the time zone for this game is likely to be a US one? Reason I ask is I'm keen on an FR game, but based in GMT.

Sorry to hear that, but anytime the server is up you are more than welcome to join, I have always been flexable about characters jumping in and out... I will try to keep the gametimes posted on the calender...

One thing I failed to mention is that as your characters grow, they will be alowed to become Epic level as well. Keep this in mind that there will be Epic level campaigns later on.

thursday and friday (July 12,13) at 6:00 pm cdt I will be on line to test the connection and will be also testing the map transfer in prep for the game. Also for those who have ventrilo or vent as some call it the info is:

I would like to play as well if you have a slot avaialble. I have some familiarity with Forgotten Realms and own all previous edition FR books a lot of the 3rd Edition FR Books. I also use Ventrillo as well.
I have a character I made for another campaign that fell through. It was a 32 point buy character that started at 6th level, but I could very easily alter it to 1st level and roll the stats.
I was a cleric of St. Cuthbert, but since they have the same domains (Strength & Protection), I would like to make him a Cleric of Helm instead.

I have an elven gish concept that I would probably use; definitely would be challenging at lower lvls.

I have to say I've given up on this campaign for now, unless someone else picks up where the original DM left off. Sounds like he's not around anymore.

that's the main problem I find with FG games, they abruptly end and no one knows why.

It's not FG, you'll find the same problem with *any* VTT. The anonymous nature of the internet means flakes find it even easier to blow off games than they would in a face to face game. The great news is that there are tons of people on the Internet and if you keep looking you will find players and GMs who show up. Its just a numbers game keep looking long enough and you will find a good group.
