Is it possible to change the desktop image? how can I do it?

Changing the entire background requires build a mod that supports a 9-slice graphic image and definition in the mod. This is essentially part of theming.

If you just want to apply a decal, there is the ability to turn off the decal in the Options. If you are using FG Unity version, you can also open any Image in the Assets window by double-clicking on it, and use the Set Background Decal button.

yes there is windows app that can generate decal sets for use in game to replace the default ones.

With FGU, you can set any image asset in the program as a background decal. No need for extensions or separate tools.
