Export to Metadata?

I just notice that if you right click on a layer it has a export to Metadata. What does this do? I'm using the test channel with dynamic lighting and a 5ed campaign.

It exports the LoS and Lighting data to an xml file which can then be included in a module along with the corresponding map.
