Black and various values of opacity don't work, black functionally starts inverting instead.

This makes it incredibly hard to implement an attractive grid. Slightly off white works fine (pure white being a grayscale inverse). But black and off black (or any darker colour) lightens everything under the grid as the opacity is turned down, essentially making it a non option colour/shade wise.

You can change the color of the lines of the grid.

Yes? I am referencing an issue with that feature.

Black lines, when using the opacity/alpha levels become grey/white lines rather than adjusting in opacity.

Light coloured lines adjust opacity normally.

An example of black (and near black) turning into a light grey with alpha levels.

An example of it working properly with a near white.

I must say I can't see a lot of different between the two. If you pushed me to decide I'd pick the top one. I'm not sure that I'm getting what the issue is really.

Okay, explanation take 2

The top row is a black grid with its opacity turned down in 33% steps. The bottom row is a black tinted image with its opacity turned down in 33% steps.

The lower section is displaying correctly for the image, the upper segment with the grid is displaying light grey lines instead of transparent black lines when the alpha channel is adjusted.

The grid lines in the upper section should be the same as the black square in the lower section. I draw your attention to the stark difference in how the wall appears.

Some extra examples, this time at 33% and 66% black grid opacity in foundryvtt and displaying correctly, roll20 also works in the same fashion (alpha/opacity adjusting alpha/opacity levels)

Reason: I have two players with eyesight issues (two different forms of colour blindness), at the moment when the map has a light base colour I need to set the grid to completely black, because anything else ends up lightening the map underneath and the players have issues seeing the grid. But when it is 100% black it looks horrible and detracts from the visual experience for other players who do not have eyesight issues.

Put simply, a black grid placed over a black background should never not be black, no matter the alpha value of the grid.

After some experimentation, it looks like the grid actually ignores the layers under it and only shows through whatever the base color of the image window is. If that color is light, then a black grid will lighten to grey, even when a layer with black on it is between. The lightening is less prominent when using the FG Dark theme and it's blue when using the Futuristic theme.

Yep. This is a bug. It should be fixed in the next update.
