I have been reading the debate about having light sources on maps in the turned off mode. So players can potentially light them as they pass them in dungeons.

This is a great feature but like doors. The GM ideally will see the light objects as icons to toggle rather than in the edit mode of light and vision.

Just a thought.

We actually talked about this; but decided against it for now. The problem is that not all players are "good actors"; and will often mess up the scene that a GM is setting up either because they are bored, like to mess with people, think they're being funny, etc. Having to lock all the lights to prevent this is really the same as not allowing.

This. While I agree the idea of player interactive lights is awesome too many trolls would make it annoying. Our party would prefer to have free map movement now that they've become accustomed to how FGU works, but we have One player who simply cannot behave and will immediately move his token all over the map if not locked down.

Yes I know that same player. There can’t be two complete 5)(1t’5 in this world. Although I have found locking tokens when they are miles away from the group stops the worst of it. And a NPC from hell or two.

But I was actually thinking it would be like a door but only the GM might see it ??

GM only on off might be useful, so you don't need to go into Edit mode.
