FGCon License Sale?

Anyone know if there will be a sale on FG Licenses before/during/after FGCon 16?

I only ask because a friend of mine just joined the FGU subscription and likes FGU a lot, but he can't afford the $150 pricetag for ultimate without a sale.

Unfortunately, we do not pre-announce sales; as we have contractual obligations with other store fronts we sell on (such as Steam).

I'm not from Smiteworks, so I can tell you Smiteworks mirrors the sales on Steam on this site. Steam always has Summer and Winter sales. In the past they have had a Spring sale but not for the last few years. If a Spring sale happens, it would be towards the end of May. Thus your pressed for cash friend could get a monthly subscription and then take advantage of the next Steam sale in either Spring or Summer.

You might tell your friend to subscribe to the Smiteworks newsletter which does also announces weekly Smitework sales. Sometimes the licences are go on sale but I think they just came off sale so it might be a while.

One thing about waiting for a hypothetical Steam Spring Sale in late May and a subscription until then - by the time your friend buys in late May, he'll have essentially paid the same amount as full price, give or take a few dollars. Perhaps even more than full price purchase depending on the exact timing of everything.
