Hi everyone,
I got a problem that is driving me crazy.

I have a mac, if that may help.

EDIT: this has to do with measuring distance with the pointer (line with arrow) tool.

I was watching Smiteworks video regarding using the pointer in Raw distance to see actual miles travelled or planned to travel.

Everything was going great, but while for Smitework they do only have one decimal - I have tons of decimals which makes it unreadable.

So how do I change that?
I really like that function and would like to use it.

It works great without Raw distance and show me the distance, but only for that hex and I would like to have it like in the video and use Raw distance.

So, anyone got the same problem?

I'm not sure; I'm not seeing any decimals - but I may be misunderstanding what the problem is and what it is you are trying to do. All I did was set the unit measurement to miles and then moved the token around a bit. Oh, it may be the ruleset you are using? I tested in 5e.

First, thanks for replying.

Yes, thats what I wanted. However when I use the measure pointer with Raw Distance it comes up with tons of decimals which makes the tooltip unreadable.

Can you upload your logs? /console then Compile Logs button.

ok, I don't have Savage Worlds so can't test. Hoepfully someone else will be along shortly who can.

Note that there were ruleset updates a couple hours ago, but I don't see any updates for SW. https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?66655-FG-Ruleset-Updates-2021-03

I downloaded the update, but alas no change.

Seems if I have checked snap to grid, I dont get the problem. Which is weird. Then I dont get a very accurate miles estimation either.

I have made myself a ugly solution for time being and set the grid to 7,8 and each represent 5 miles. That way I get a tad closer to real miles traveled. I have to zoom in quite a bit to see the text. That map is mostly for me anyway. But would be great if someone found a solution.

OK, so this one shows loading the Savage Worlds ruleset, whereas your previous log snipets showed just loading the CoreRPG ruleset.

Do you see the same in CoreRPG and Savage Worlds? If so, let's please try to keep to the same setup so that we can actually debug against a level playing field without things changing...

Yes Trenloe, I wanted to see whether it was the same problem with Core and it was. I wanted to find out if it was something wrong with Savage Worlds ruleset.

Exarx, I see the same thing on my maps in the SWADE ruleset. If the pointer is exactly horizontal or vertical, it calculates in legible decimal values. If it's at any angle, it gives something that looks like a division by pi. Toggling raw distance off "fixes" it.

I'm tempted to turn on raw distance for my next game session to drive my players crazy. :pirate:

Can you provide a zipped up copy of the CoreRPG campaign that you created with the problematic image record?

I'm only getting one decimal place of precision on the targeting arrows when I create a brand new CoreRPG campaign image and use raw distance and turn off grid snapping.

You have a Mac as well? Trying to see if its "just macs". Yeah, this sucks.
Makes me a little sad that I pumped so much money into it when im hearing all the good things bout Foundry. But I hope this will be solved soon.

So I cleared the console and started up my Core testcampaign. And Lo and behold it worked!
Saved the consoleresult.
Loaded my Savage world campaign and it did not work there.
So Im leaning toward that something is broken with SW??

The logs won't help unless there is specifically an error reported in the console that pops open; or if we're working through a networking issue. It is not related to Mac either.

Narrowing down to SavageWorlds ruleset does help; and I was able to recreate with that information after playing around a bit.

I looked at the SW ruleset code; and it is overriding the measurement function to return it's own value. So, I'll need to review what it is doing; and see if something that can be fixed in API or in the ruleset.

Wow! Thanks for all the help! This really makes me glad that I invested so heavely into this. This community is GREAT!
I was afraid that this problem would be very non-priority.
