Error when rolling NPC ship skills (piloting, gunner, ect)

I get an error when I try to roll a piloting check from the combat tracker for an NPC ship....I think this is the error
[2/23/2021 10:42:05 PM] [ERROR] Script execution error: [string "scripts/manager_action_shipskill.lua"]:52: attempt to index a nil value

Has anyone see this before?
