My connection is timing out. I am running 5E and my PC requirements exceed recommended specs. 12G ram, 64b OS, 2.9GHZ processor and my connection speed is 320 down and 22 up. This computer is less than 3 months old, i have very few extensions on my browser and I have reinstalled the game in the last 24 hours. I have several modules, rule sets and just purchased a couple FG Map Builder packs. Starting earlier this week every couple of minutes as I open a table or move something around it freezes up on me / times out as I get a haze over my screen. I have opened up a new campaign other than the one I am building and it continues to do the same thing. Can someone point me in the right direction for a fix. I have FGU latest update as of last night 2.10.2021 . . . I am having this issue with no one else logged on to the campaign

This isn't a connection time out. This is your FGU doing something intensive. If you create a new 5E campaign, no extensions, and load only 1 or 2 modules - do you see the same thing happening?

Yes, IO just opened a new campaign and only loaded core rules. it locked up before i finished loading rules and pretty soon after that when I brought in PC's to add backgrounds and notes to, no modules loaded.

See attached files, I loaded a campaign with only core 5E rules and froze before rules were loaded and again when I imported characters to fill out histories. No modules loaded.

Moved this to a new thread as this needs to be addressed directly and not as part of the connection issues thread.
@Kitter1970 - what is the detailed specification of your computer?

Please just load one or two module - maybe the PHB and one adventure module. In a brand new 5E campaign. And see how that works...

Are you running a desktop or a laptop?
Exactly what specification is the processer? Is it an i3, i5...?
What resolution do you run your screen/s at?
Kitter1970

the processor is i5 . . . I run my screens at 1920x1080. It is a desktop.
I am able to run a new campaign with virtually none of my extensions open without it freezing up, (DM Guide, Players handbook, MM, 1 Module) but now we get into the issue of how much can I open up, and why did I purchase the content to start with.

This is all part of the troubleshooting process - working out what might be causing the hanging.
Can you describe a reproducible scenario? What steps you take, with which modules loaded, to create a freeze - and how long does the freeze last?

opened up my campaign with almost all modules extensions on . . . 1. opened a character sheet, froze for 50 sec; 2. filling out notes, 4:40 later another freeze for 53 seconds . . . 3. 6 min later while filling out the characters inventory for 49 sec . . . 4. five minutes later filling out inventory on the same character sheet froze for 65 seconds . . . 5. opening up a module to read through 4 min later 67 seconds

during this time I had minimal screens up and I was not opening or using many features.

What video card are you using? The on-board Intel graphics cards were having a lot of problems a while ago. It could be something like that.

Please provide the log files again for when this happens - and provide details of date and time when the freezes occur, so the exact place in the logs can be located.
Also, when this is happening, open Windows Task Manager and go to the performance tab. What is the processor usage, GPU usage, memory usage and disk usage during a freeze?

Thanks for providing this information.
To confirm/clarify:
1) You instance of FGU was running with a loaded campaign for close to 48 hours before doing this test?
2) How many monitors do you have connected?
Reading up on the graphics processor you have, it doesn't get good reviews when running "games". Some info here: https://www.techcenturion.com/intel-uhd-graphics-630#:~:text=Intel%20UHD%20Graphics%20630%20Gaming% 20Settings%3A%201366%C3%97768%20Resolution,you%20s hould%20stick%20with%20720p%20for%20new%20games.
As FGU uses the Unity game engine, it is definitely classed as a game. I'm not saying this is the issue, but I think it's definitely worth investigating. So, try these steps:
1) Have only one monitor connected at a max resolution of 1080p. See if this performs any better.
2) I'd recommend not having FGU running for 48 hours straight. Certainly not when you're having issues like this.
3) Try using the /vsync chat command. Some information on the settings here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?63214-Is-there-slash-command-for-FPS-settings&p=552968&viewfull=1#post552968 Start at /vsync 4 and see if that makes any difference.

I think that is right, I opened up the campaign Friday evening when I was troubleshooting it. I have not been using it since then. I still have similar freezes for a newly started game
I have 2 monitors connected, so I can run a zoom meeting along with FG during sessions.
The freezing issues do not seem to be tied to how long the session has been open since they are at similar frequencies. The problem started when I purchased additional material after last weeks gaming session. Prior to that the game would only freeze very infrequently, perhaps not at all during a session, or if so only once.

Then, unless the vsync settings help, you're going to have to load only the modules that you actually really *need*. For example, in the log files you sent you have 33 modules in total loaded, with modules for at least 6 adventures loaded. Adventure modules are very resource heavy - do you *really* need to have all of those loaded at once? Especially when it could cause your system to lock up?

So I have purchased a new graphics card . . . I am getting the same issue again. Although my graphics have much improved on my world of tanks game I still am getting freeze issues on FG. I point back again to the issue starting after I bough additional content from your store to utilize in my campaign. The graphics card is a nvidia GT 1030.

Have you tried the vsync setting I've mentioned?
Try starting up with none of the five adventure campaign modules you currently have loaded - do you see the issue then? If not, add one at a time - is there a specific one module that causes this, or is it a case of the issue occurs after 3, or 4, or 5? If it occurs with no adventure modules loaded at all, then step through other large modules you loaded - removing one at a time and try to identify if there's one specific module causing the issue, or if there's a threshold.
Also, for troubleshooting purposes, did you try with only one monitor as I mentioned earlier?

Yes I did try only 1 monitor, that did not work.

Can you provide a zipped up copy of your campaign folder via a file share link (such as DropBox or Google Drive)?
Also, please let us know exactly which windows you have open when you are seeing issues?
Thanks,

This sounds a lot like CPU processing happening. FGU tends to become unresponsive while processing, because it does not report back to Windows then. Next time you get a freeze check FGU in Task-Manager. You will see that it will occupy 1-2 cores to max (100% / no. of logical cores = CPU load of a single core).
At the same time you can also check your GPU load and it very likely won't show any FGU load at all while the screen goes gray. Here is an example of FGU loading the Pathfinder 2 Bestiary module (the 41% total GPU load is from a game running in the background and the GPU being down-clocked, FGU = 0%):

Now the problem is that you get these freezes while using character sheets, which points to at least one of your modules or extensions trying to interact with the sheet. Try loading one module after another to find out which one(s) may be responsible. Likely there is just a(n interaction) bug in said module(s) that may be fixed.
