I've searched and haven't seen an answer to this yet, but is there a way to have a consumable tied to an effect? Like a potion. You add it to your inventory and it adds the appropriate effect in actions? Either that, or have an effect built into the item so that when you "use" it it applies the effect and then decreases the number of that item in your inventory by 1?

Thanks in advance.

hi.

1) consumable tied to an effect: check out this extension. (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?57819-Advanced-Character-Iventory-Manager-for-3-5E-and-Pathfinder); make sure you also use this spellbook mod (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?58962-PFRPG-Spellbook) that has effects scripted for spells

2a) inventory counter: nothing exists to auto manage your inventory (tab) items; it has to be done manually. however, you can track usage (still manually but more intuitive) by adding a spell class and label it something like "items"; so if you have 3 potions of cure light, drop it into a level 1 spell slot (doesn't matter really what level) and set daily use to 3. if you have a wand with 20 charges, add it also in level 1 spell slot and set daily use to 23, etc. then click on the circle tick mark with each use, like you would after casting a spell.

i think it's either hard-coded in fg (if not, maybe this extension (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?38761-CustomisedItemGenerator-Extension)) allows you to set it so the daily use won't reset after a full night's rest, meaning it won't reset your wand to 20 charges if you had used up 3, like it would with spells after rest.

2b) effects counter, say like mirror image, there is this extension (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?46971-Mirror-Image-Handler-extension), which actually automates the effect.

@2a): That it doesn't reset after a rest comes from my extension, I've added that possibility :) So, in case you were speaking about the "Nom nom" option in the cycle button, then it is from me :D However, the linked extension may do something similar, probably not called "Nom Nom" then :D (but I can currently not recommend my extension, because it will soon not be useable for some time :D)

.
yes, i was referring to yours (couldn't remember which lol)...

so for my comment (2a) above, this is the intended referenced extension (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?50143-Save-overlay-extension-(idea-from-Ken-L)) -- but take heed by @kelrugem in last post about this extension.
