vertical text alignment

i am sure there must be a simple way of doing it but i have searched these forums without coming across it ... all i want to do is make the text inside a stringfield centred vertically. i already use the <center /> tag to centre it horizontally, but i want to do so vertically too. atm, the text is in the upper half of the field.

a solution, i realise, might be to reduce the height of the field frame. i haven't tried this yet, but i would prefer a centring thing in any case.

any ideas?
